Rays recalled RHP Kevin Kelly from Triple-A Durham.
With Pete Fairbanks landing on the IL, Kelly was called up to take his place. Kelly was just up with Tampa Bay until Thursday when he was demoted after allowing at least one earned run in three of his first four appearances on the season. He did have a 3.09 ERA in 67 appearances in 2023, so he should be expected to settle into a middle relief role for the time being.

Bryan Woo allowed five runs over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday.
Woo has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2025, and he’d dominated the A’s in the past. Neither of those things mattered Wednesday. He allowed a whopping four homers in the start, with two of those allowed to Miguel Andujar. He was able to work at least six innings for the 22nd start in a row, but again, that doesn’t mean much when you allow four homers. Woo will be back on the bump and very likely rebound versus the White Sox next week.
'Ripple effects' for Brewers amid Chourio's injury
Eric Samulski breaks down the reports of Jackson Chourio's injury for the Milwaukee Brewers, highlighting how long he is expected to be sidelined and the "ripple effects" that come from his injury for the team.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #59
Jeffrey Springs allowed just a run over six innings with seven strikeouts in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
Springs allowed a solo blast to Julio Rodríguez, and from that point on, he cruised. The southpaw struck out seven and gave up just one more hit for the remainder of his time in the game. Springs has been solid in his return season with a 10-7 record and 4.00 ERA, and he’s worthy of streaming consideration for his scheduled start next week against the Nationals.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #69
Jack Perkins worked the final two innings while allowing a run and picking up a save Wednesday versus the Mariners.
Mason Miller was unavailable for reasons that haven’t been divulged but are pretty obvious when you consider what day it is. That meant Perkins got the final two innings, and even while allowing a homer to Randy Arozarena, he was able to procure his third save of the season. There’s no guarantee that Miller is going to get traded, but if he does, Perkins will likely be the closer for the A’s for the final two months. Keep an eye on it.
  • ATH Left Fielder #22
Miguel Andujar hit a pair of homer to help the Athletics to a 5-4 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
Andujar took the normally excellent Bryan Woo deep twice for solo shots. The 30-year-old hasn’t shown a ton of power in his limited action in 2025, but he is now up to six roundtrippers on the season and a .436 slugging percentage. What Andujar has done is hit for average over the last two seasons, and the pair of dingers bumps his average to .298 after hitting .285 in 2024. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Andujar had a new home Thursday’s deadline.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Julio Rodríguez hit a solo homer in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #59
José Soriano worked seven innings while allowing two runs — one earned — but picked up a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.
Soriano was excellent, as he allowed just five hits and two walks while striking out seven. The offense behind him was not, as the Angels gave him a single run of support. He also can “thank” Jo Adell for an error that led to an unearned run. Soriano has given up no more than two runs in his last three starts, and his ERA is now a solid 3.65 for his trouble. He’ll try and keep the good run going against the Rays next week.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18
Nolan Schanuel hit a two-run homer but the Rangers fell to the Angels on Wednesday.
Schanuel picked up a homer off southpaw Hoby Milner in the eighth, but it came with the Angels trailing by five runs. It still give Schanuel nine homers on the season, and the 23-year-old has been solid in 2025 with a .277/.365/.403 slash. It’d be nice to see a few more balls leave the yard from a player at the first base position, at least from a fantasy perspective.
  • TEX 2nd Baseman #2
Marcus Semien went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored along with a stolen base in a win over the Angels on Wednesday.
Semien doubled and singled twice. The stolen base gives the veteran All-Star 11 on the season. Semien has been a fantasy disappointment in 2025 with a .231 average and .675 OPS, but there’s two months left to make an impact. He certainly has a track record of doing just that despite his struggles over the first two-thirds of the season.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #62
Robert Garcia struck out two over a scoreless inning while picking up a save versus the Angels on Wednesday.
Garcia was very impressive, and needed just 10 pitches to get through the outing; nine of those landing for strikes. He’s up to nine saves on the season, and the left-hander’s ERA has dipped to 2.61. There’s talk about the Rangers acquiring a closer for the final stretch, but Garcia may have done enough to keep the job.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #17
Nathan Eovaldi struck out four over seven innings of one-run baseball to get a win over the Angels on Wednesday.
Eovaldi scattered six hits, and he walked two against four strikeouts. The right-hander has been sensational in 2025, and this outing lowers his ERA to 1.49 on the season. His sample is a little smaller because of injury, but this is now 18 consecutive starts that Eovaldi hasn’t allowed more than three runs. Impressive. His next chance to impress is scheduled for Monday against the Yankees.
