Astros transferred RHP Penn Murfee to the 60-day injured list.
Murfee was claimed off waivers last month from the Braves and isn’t expected to be ready to contribute until around midseason after undergoing Tommy John surgery last June. The procedural move clears a spot on Houston’s 40-man roster.

Yankees avoided arbitration with OF Trent Grisham by agreeing to a one-year, $5 million contract.
The dynamic 28-year-old outfielder also has the potential to earn another $250,000 in incentives that are tied to plate appearances. Grisham had a rough season for the Bombers in 2024, slashing a putrid .190/.290/.385 with just nine long balls, 31 RBI, one stolen base and a 57/22 K/BB ratio over 209 plate appearances. He’ll once again serve in a reserve outfielder role until the inevitable injury strikes the Yankees’ outfield.
  • MIN Shortstop #23
The Twins will tender all of their arbitration-eligible players, according to the Betsy Helfand of St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The Twins tendered contracts to Royce Lewis, Jhoan Duran, Griffin Jax, Bailey Ober, Joe Ryan, Ryan Jeffers, Trevor Larnach and Willi Castro. They also reached agreements on Friday with right-handers Brock Stewart, Michael Tonkin and Justin Topa. There hadn’t been any rumblings that the Twins were considering non-tendering any of the players from this group, but now it’s official that they have all been tendered contracts for the 2025 season.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #48
Twins avoided arbitration with RHP Justin Topa by agreeing to a one-year contract.
No financial terms have been disclosed on this one as of yet, but Topa had been projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $1.3 million via the arbitration process. Topa, who came from the Mariners in the Jorge Polanco deal, wound up pitching just 2 1/3 innings for the Twins in 2024 due to a knee injury that cost him all but the final week of the regular season. He should play a major role in the Twins’ bullpen in 2025.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #33
Blue Jays non-tendered RHP Dillon Tate.
The 30-year-old hurler compiled a 4.66 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 27/12 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings between the Orioles and Blue Jays in 2024. The Blue Jays liked what they saw from Tate late in the season, but the $1.5 million - 1.8 million that he was expected to earn via arbitration was just too steep of a price tag for them to pay. He shouldn’t have any difficulty finding work on the open market.
  • FA Left Fielder #0
    Mariners non-tendered INF/OF Sam Haggerty.
The versatile 30-year-old was projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $900,000 via the arbitration process. He wound up appearing in just eight games for the Mariners during the 2024 season, hitting .067 (1-for-15) with one RBI, one stolen base an a 4/1 K/BB ratio. He also suffered a ruptured Achilles in May that cost him the remainder of the season. Haggerty’s speed always makes him an interesting deep-league commodity from a fantasy perspective, but he’s nowhere close to receiving regular at-bats at the big-league level right now.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #26
Dodgers avoided arbitration with RHP Tony Gonsolin by agreeing to a one-year, $5.4 million contract.
Gonsolin just finished up a two-year, $6.65 million contract that he signed a super-two player after his breakthrough 2022. He spent last season working his way back from Tommy John, and though the Dodgers considered activating him in the postseason after his successful September rehab stint, they ultimately decided against it. He should be part of the team’s six-man rotation next season.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #31
Guardians avoided arbitration with LHP Sam Hentges by agreeing to a one-year, $1.337 million contract.
The 28-year-old southpaw is expected to miss the entirety of the 2025 season while recovering from shoulder surgery. The Guardians hope that he’ll make it back stronger and better than ever to be a major contributor in their bullpen once again for the 2026 season.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #71
    Orioles non-tendered RHP Jacob Webb.
Webb did a really nice job out of the Orioles’ bullpen in 2024, posting a 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 58/27 K/BB ratio across 56 2/3 innings in his 60 appearances. He had been projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $1.7 million via arbitration and shouldn’t have too much trouble landing something similar or even better on the open market this winter.
  • FA First Baseman #32
White Sox non-tendered 1B/DH Gavin Sheets.
The 28-year-old slugger hit a disappointing .233/.303/.357 with 10 homers and 45 RBI over 501 plate appearances with the White Sox in 2024. He was projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $2.6 million via arbitration and Chris Getz and company must not have felt like his production was worth that much. He’s a guy who should draw plenty of interest on the open market this winter.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #56
    Athletics non-tendered RHP Dany Jiménez.
The 30-year-old right-hander was never able to recapture the form that made him a viable high-leverage option out of the bullpen for the A’s during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He posted a disappointing 4.91 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 25/19 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings at the big-league level during the 2024 campaign. Jiménez had been expected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $1 million via arbitration.
