Phillies placed RHP Luis Ortiz on the 15-day injured list with a left ankle sprain.
Ortiz hurt his ankle during his appearance Saturday against Atlanta. The right-hander will be out for at least the next two-plus weeks while recovering. Nick Nelson was recalled from Lehigh Valley to take Ortiz’s place on the roster in a corresponding transaction.

Huascar Brazobán is undergoing an MRI on his oblique/side prior to Wednesday’s game against the Phillies.
Brazobán is going to be off the roster regardless of the results of the imaging; the Mets have already recalled Kevin Herget to take his spot on the roster. The question is whether it’s an option to Syracuse of a 15-day injured list sint, and that will be determined in large part by that testing.
Crochet, Skubal neck and neck for AL Cy Young
Vaughn Dalzell examines the AL Cy Young race and who has the advantage between Boston's Garrett Crochet and Detroit's Tarik Skubal.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #68
Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters that the Orioles will move to a six-man rotation beginning in September.
That rotation will feature Kyle Bradish, Trevor Rogers, Tomoyuki Sugano, Dean Kremer and Tyler Wells (elbow), with Wells expected to come off the injured list to make his season debut after rosters expand. It’s notable for Wells, but also for Trevor Rogers, as this will take away a start or two from the southpaw to finish the year.
  • CWS Right Fielder #37
White Sox recalled OF Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte.
Robertson is up with Luis Robert Jr. on the injured list due to a hamstring strain. The 27-year-old went just 1-for-16 in his previous action in 2025 with Chicago and Toronto, and he’s likely a fourth outfielder in this current stint with the Pale Hose.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
White Sox placed OF Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
Robert was removed from Tuesday’s game with soreness in his left hamstring, and further evaluation revealed the strain. He’ll be out of action for at least a week and a half, but with the White Sox not even kind of in contention, there will be no rush to bring the 28-year-old outfielder back into action.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #23
Reds placed RHP Graham Ashcraft on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.
Ashcraft has been a mid-to-late inning option for the Reds in 2025 and has pitched well with a 3.72 ERA and 56/24 K/BB ratio across 58 innings over 53 appearances. The right-hander will miss at least two weeks, but forearm injuries often require lengthier absences.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #40
Reds activated LHP Nick Lodolo from the 15-day injured list.
Lodolo is back after missing close to three weeks with a blister on his left index finger, and he’ll start Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers. The 27-year-old has pitched very well in 2025, but keep in mind that this is a tougher matchup even before considering the absence.
  • WSH Catcher #81
Drew Millas left Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with a fractured and dislocated left index finger.
The injury occurred when Millas was hit in the finger on a swing from Austin Wells. A trip to the injured list for the 27-year-old backstop seems very likely, but for now Riley Adams has taken over behind the plate.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #57
Mets recalled RHP Kevin Herget from Triple-A Syracuse.
Herget will be a middle-inning option in his latest stint with the Mets. A corresponding move should be announced shortly.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #47
Cardinals placed LHP John King on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 26, with a mid back strain.
King was just activated off the injured list Sunday after recovering from his oblique strain. The 30-year-old’s season could be over, but he’ll be eligible to return to St. Louis in the middle of September.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #65
Cardinals recalled RHP Andre Granillo from Triple-A Memphis.
Granillo takes the roster spot of John King, as King was placed on the injured list with a back strain. Granillo has forged a 4.82 ERA in his 18 2/3 innings with St. Louis, and likely will work in the middle innings.
