  • NYY Starting Pitcher #34
Luke Weaver will not make his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Blue Jays due to neck stiffness.
We’ll see if this becomes something or is just precautionary, but it’s another injury for a Yankees pitcher this spring. The 30-year-old signed a one-year deal with New York this offseason and has posted a 6.75 ERA across 5 1/3 innings during Spring Training.
  • MIN Third Baseman #23
Royce Lewis will undergo an MRI exam on his injured groin on Wednesday and there’s concern that he’ll wind up back on the injured list.
The 25-year-old superstar third baseman was pulled from Tuesday’s battle against the Tigers due to left groin tightness. When asked about his status after the game, a dejected Lewis told reporters that “I have no idea. But probably not very optimistic, to be honest with you. I’m praying, but it’s usually always horrible news. So we’ll see.” All fantasy managers can do now is wait and hope for the best. The Twins should have a full update on his status before Wednesday’s game.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI on Tuesday night, propelling the Dodgers to a walk-off 6-5 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Hernández got the party started in the first inning with a two-out RBI double off of Ryne Nelson. He also drove in the game’s second run with a fielder’s choice in the third inning. The best was yet to come though, as he dropped a two-out RBI single into left field off of Paul Sewald in the ninth inning, delivering a come-from-behind walk-off victory and sending the Dodgers’ home faithful into a frenzy. With the three-hit night, the 31-year-old outfielder is now hitting .254/.316/.480 with 18 long balls, 58 RBI and four stolen bases.
  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Shohei Ohtani clobbered his 27th home run of the season on Tuesday night as the Dodgers rallied to defeat the Diamondbacks.
Ohtani led off the home half of the first inning with a double and scored the game’s first run on an RBI double off the bat of Teoscar Hernandez. He then flipped the game in the Dodgers’ favor with a mammoth 433-foot (112.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Justin Martinez in the seventh inning that made it a 4-3 ballgame. Ohtani finished the night 3-for-5 and is now slashing an absurd .320/.402/.646 with 27 homers, 64 RBI and 16 swipes.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #38
Paul Sewald suffered his first blown save of the season on Tuesday night, allowing two runs on three hits over 2/3 innings against the Dodgers.
The 34-year-old stopper was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning. He started off the inning by striking out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, but things got interesting as Will Smith smacked a two-out double on the first pitch that he saw, putting the tying run in scoring position. Freddie Freeman then fell behind 0-2 before lining a game-tying RBI double into right field. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a walk-off RBI single that ended it. Even with this setback, Sewald still holds a terrific 1.56 ERA and 0.63 WHIP over 17 1/3 innings on the season while converting 11 of his first 12 save opportunities.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #59
Evan Phillips earned his first victory of the 2024 season on Tuesday despite allowing a solo homer in the ninth inning against the Diamondbacks,
Phillips came on to work with the score tied at four runs apiece heading to the ninth inning. He struck out Ketel Marte to start the frame but then served up a go-ahead solo homer to Joc Pederson before retiring the next to hitters. He was then the beneficiary of a vultured win after the Dodgers rallied for two runs in the home half of the ninth. On the season, the 29-year-old closer now boasts a 2.10 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 27/8 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings on the year to go along with 13 saves in 13 chances.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #28
Bobby Miller pitched decently in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday evening, allowing two runs on four hits over his five innings of work.
The 25-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the night while issuing three free passes. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Christian Walker in the fourth inning. Miller generated 10 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night — seven of those on his heater which averaged 96.5 mph — while posting a CSW of 23 percent. Miller now sports a 6.12 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and a 25/15 K/BB ratio over 25 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll look to get back in the win column when he squares off against the Brewers at home on Sunday.
  • ARI First Baseman #53
Christian Walker went 2-for-5 and slugged a two-run homer on Tuesday night as the Diamondbacks fell to the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old slugger evened the score at 2-2 when he clobbered a 402-foot (107.1 mph EV) two-run shot off of Bobby Miller in the fourth inning. He also added a two-out single off of Alex Vesia in the seventh inning. Walker is enjoying another strong season in the middle of the Diamondbacks’ lineup, slashing .259/.331/.480 with 18 homers, 55 RBI and two stolen bases (in four attempts).
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #19
Ryne Nelson delivered a strong performance in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Tuesday, giving up just one run on six hits over his five frames.
Nelson struck out three batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. He took over in the first inning after Joe Mantiply recorded the first two outs and left a runner at second base. Nelson allowed that inherited runner to score, but escaped the inning unscathed otherwise. The lone run charged to him came as Teoscar Hernandez grounded into a fielder’s choice in the third inning. Nelson got six whiffs on 78 pitches on the night, posting a miserable CSW of only 18 percent. He’ll look to further improve upon his 5.42 ERA and 1.56 WHIP when he does battle against the Padres in San Diego on Sunday.
  • TB Second Baseman #8
Brandon Lowe socked his seventh dinger of the season on Tuesday night, helping to power the Rays to a 5-1 victory over the Royals in Kansas City.
Lowe drew a two-out walk off of Chris Stratton in the seventh inning then raced around to score on a two-run double by Isaac Paredes. He then capped off the scoring in the ballgame as he walloped a 433-foot (108.0 mph EV) solo shot off of Nick Anderson to lead off the ninth inning. It’s been a rough season at the dish for Lowe in-between stints on the injured list — slashing .220/.322/.455 with seven homers, 24 RBI and one stolen base in 143 plate appearances.
  • TB Left Fielder #1
Richie Palacios went 3-for-4 with a double, stolen base and an RBI as the Rays defeated the Royals in Kansas City.
The speedy 27-year-old outfielder reached on an infield single off of Brady Singer in the second inning, advanced to third on a double by Jose Siri and scampered home with the game’s first run on a wild pitch. Palacios also drove in a run with a two-out RBI double off of John Schreiber in the sixth inning. With his three-hit night, Palacios is now slashing .251/.354/.348 with four homers, 18 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 239 plate appearances on the season.
