Chase Meidroth reached all three times up against the Cardinals on Tuesday, going 2-for-2 with a double and a walk.
Meidroth, a 2022 fourth-round pick, has hit .278/.413/.415 in 133 career games as a minor leaguer. He’s not viewed as having a very high ceiling, but the on-base skills are legit and could make him at least a solid bench player in the majors. He’ll probably spend most of 2024 in Triple-A.

TJ Friedl went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI and also walked twice on Monday, lifting the Reds to a 9-3 victory over the Padres.
Friedl has been effective as Cinciannti’s primary table-setter and top-of-the-order spark plug, when healthy, over the last few seasons. The 29-year-old outfielder suited up for only 85 games last year due to injury, but he’s back at full strength this spring, batting .360 (9-for-25) in Cactus League play.
  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. walloped a solo homer on Monday in a loss to the Reds.
Tatis took Reds ace Hunter Greene deep in the fourth inning when he connected on a blistering 99.4 mph heater. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar was limited to just 102 games last year due to physical issues, but he’s looked healthy this spring the lead up to Opening Day.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #21
Hunter Greene struck out five and allowed one run over four innings on Monday against the Padres.
Greene continues to light up the radar gun in Cactus League outings. He averaged an impressive 97.6 mph on his four-seam fastball on Monday afternoon, while hitting triple-digits on several occasions. He also mixed in a handful of splitters as well, which is an encouraging development as he continues to search for a reliable third offering. The 25-year-old flamethrower has allowed eight runs with a 16/4 K/BB ratio across 12 innings (four starts) so far. He’s firmly entrenched as a top-30 range starting pitcher for fantasy purposes in drafts this spring.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #34
Michael King was tagged for three runs over 2 2/3 innings on Monday against the Reds.
The statistical results obviously don’t carry much weight at this stage of spring training, especially since King’s fastball velocity appeared to be in midseason form during this one. He finished with only one strikeout and issued three walks. The 29-year-old remains a certifiable upper-echelon, top-15 range starting pitcher for fantasy purposes following last year’s breakthrough campaign.
  • CWS Catcher #89
Kyle Teel went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI as the White Sox pounded the Athletics 10-3 on Monday.
Teel is 4-for-12 with two homers, a double and a 3/3 K/BB, giving him a 1.384 OPS through nine appearances. The White Sox aren’t going to carry him out of spring training, but there’s a good chance he’ll finish 2025 as the team’s starting catcher.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #40
Luis Severino yielded two runs in three innings and struck out four Monday against the White Sox.
Both runs came in the first after Severino walked Lenyn Sosa and plunked Luis Robert Jr. to start the game. He settled down nicely from there, but he did wind up taking the loss today.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #70
J.T. Gibb gave up four runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief Monday against the White Sox.
That brings his Cactus League ERA to 10.00. Gibb was more impressive than expected down the stretch for the A’s last season, but he’s always had an uphill climb as far as winning a rotation spot this spring. He’ll head to Triple-A and await injuries.
  • CWS Shortstop #50
Lenyn Sosa had a single, a sac fly and two walks Monday against the A’s.
Sosa played first base today. He’s made two starts there, two at second and four at third this spring. The 25-year-old is one of the White Sox’s most interesting bats; his .254/.283/.359 line in 369 plate appearances last season wasn’t anything special, but with a 41% hard-hit rate, he had a .278 xBA and a .419 xSLG. He’ll probably turn into a regular for the team at some point, even if it doesn’t happen initially. While he should hit, his fantasy ceiling is capped by his lack of any steal potential and the paucity of runs scored and RBI generated by the White Sox lineup.
  • CWS Center Fielder #24
Michael A. Taylor struck out three times and was hit by a pitch Monday against the A’s.
Taylor was signed as a reserve and possible fallback in case the White Sox traded Luis Robert Jr., but with Andrew Benintendi hurt, he’ll probably see an expanded role early on. Alas, things are looking rather bleak here right now. Taylor is 0-for-13 with 10 strikeouts and two walks through five games.
  • SF Center Fielder #58
Grant McCray went 2-for-3 with a stolen base on Monday, leading the Giants to an 8-2 win over the Rockies in Cactus League action.
McCray got on-base three times out of the leadoff spot in this one and is up to four thefts on the spring. The 24-year-old speedster hit .202 with five homers and five steals in 37 contests last year for the Giants. There isn’t a clear path to a bench spot in the big leagues right now, but he’s going to make it difficult for San Francisco to ship him out if he keeps hitting in Cactus League games.
