Marlins re-signed OF Jonathan Davis to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Davis appeared in 34 games for Miami in 2023, hitting .244/.307/.378 with two homers, 10 RBI and a 29/7 K/BB ratio over 104 plate appearances. He was filling in for Jazz Chisholm before Davis himself got hurt and had to undergo season-ending knee surgery in July. The 31-year-old outfielder was sent outright to Triple-A Jacksonville at the end of the regular season, but refused the assignment to explore the open market. At the end of that, he found himself back in Miami, providing the organization with valuable depth in CF behind Chisholm.
