Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Padres are close to an agreement with Korean right-hander Woo-Suk Go.
Heyman notes that the 25-year-old hurler is expected to step in as the Padres’ closer. Go posted a 3.68 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 59/22 K/BB ratio across 44 innings in his 44 appearances for the LG Twins during the 2023 campaign. Go has compiled 139 saves over the past five seasons, so he has plenty of experience in the ninth inning. If he does wind up closing, he’ll gain immediate relevancy for fantasy purposes, while the value of Robert Suarez and Yuki Matsui would take a big hit.
