Rangers selected Carson Coleman from the Yankees with the 10th pick of the Rule 5 Draft.
The 25-year-old Kentucky Wildcat was the third Yankees pitching prospect to get snagged in this draft (Mitch Spence to the A’s and Matt Sauer to the Royals). Playing his second season in the minors, Coleman posted a 2.13 ERA in 63 1/3 innings in 2022 with 44 of those coming at the Double-A level. His K/9 rate was certainly worth writing home about (13.5). He ended his season with a combined no-hitter in the Eastern League Championship. Randy Vasquez opened that game up with eight hitless innings and Coleman added a hitless ninth inning to complete the 15-0 rout. Coleman sat out the 2023 season with an elbow injury.

Mariners placed RHP Bryce Miller on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 7, with right elbow inflammation.
Miller, who has been dealing with a bone spur, gave up eight runs and struck out just four over nine innings in two starts since returning from his previous IL stint. The Mariners have yet to comment on the injury, so there’s no telling right now when Miller will be back. Bone spur removal surgery, if necessary, wouldn’t necessarily end his season, though it would surely sideline him until late in the year. Logan Evans will replace him in the Seattle rotation.
Will Judge have .400 average at All-Star break?
Brad Thomas and Vaughn Dalzell debate if Aaron Judge will have a .400 batting average when the MLB All-Star Game takes place on July 15, sharing why the slugger has a great chance to join Ted Williams and make history.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #73
Mariners recalled RHP Logan Evans from Triple-A Tacoma.
Evans, who is 3-1 with a 2.83 ERA in six major league starts this season, will face the Diamondbacks tonight. He’ll be a streaming option in mixed leagues in his home starts if he gets the chance to stick around. The Mariners are getting Logan Gilbert back, probably early next week, but they could demote Emerson Hancock instead of Evans if Evans pitches well tonight.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #59
Rays recalled RHP Mason Englert from Triple-A Durham.
Englert had a 6.00 ERA in 18 innings out of the Rays pen before being sent down a month ago. He’ll work in middle relief for now.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #61
Rays optioned LHP Ian Seymour to Triple-A Durham.
Seymour, called up Sunday, picked up a win in his major league debut last night, but since it took him 29 pitches to do so, right back down he goes in exchange for a fresh arm.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #24
Twins recalled RHP Simeon Woods Richardson from Triple-A St. Paul.
This move was expected after both Pablo Lopez (lat) and Zebby Matthews (shoulder) landed on the IL. Woods Richardson should remain in the Twins rotation for at least a month, if not longer, depending on Matthews’ recovery from a shoulder injury. Before a couple of rough starts preceding his demotion, Woods Richardson was having a fine season, and his advanced metrics suggest that he’s been pitching better than his ERA would indicate. He could emerge as a streaming option in favorable matchups for deeper fantasy formats.
  • WSH 1st Baseman #87
Nationals recalled infielder Andrés Chaparro from Triple-A Rochester.
This move was rumored on Sunday and is now official before Tuesday’s game. Chaparro hasn’t played third base in any of his minor league games this season, so he’s likely to serve as a backup first baseman and DH to Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Bell which keeps him off fantasy radars.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #65
José Urquidy (elbow) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session last week.
The Tigers signed Urquidy in March and placed him on the 60-day IL. The 30-year-old is making his way back from Tommy John surgery and will “ramp up his workload in the coming days,” according to manager A.J. Hinch. He could be an option in Detroit in the final months of the season, but we would keep our expectations in check for fantasy purposes.
  • TB Left Fielder #1
Richie Palacios (knee) will start a rehab assignment today in the Florida Complex League on Tuesday.
Palacios has played just one game this year with a broken finger and a right knee sprain. He will likely need a long time on his rehab assignment and could return to a bench role in Tampa Bay by late June or early July.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #59
Christian Montes De Oca will undergo an MRI on his elbow on Tuesday.
Montes De Oca was with Arizona over the weekend but didn’t pitch. He was briefly sent back to Triple-A but then recalled on Monday when Kendall Graveman went on the IL. However, Montes De Oca felt discomfort in his elbow on Monday and was not available to pitch. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said, “his concern is high.” We’ll have to wait for the MRI results to know more, but the Arizona bullpen is not in good shape right now.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #37
Porter Hodge (oblique, hip) will throw live batting practice with Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.
Hodge threw a bullpen on Friday, so this is the next step for him. After the live batting practice, he’ll begin a rehab assignment and should be back in Chicago’s bullpen by the end of the month. He likely won’t unseat Daniel Palencia right away, but he should return to the high-leverage mix for the Cubs.
