  • CWS Relief Pitcher #66
White Sox optioned RHP Edgar Navarro to Triple-A Charlotte.
The 25-year-old hurler struggled in eight appearances with the White Sox, posting a 7.27 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 9/2 K/BB ratio across his 8 2/3 innings of work. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the White Sox at the Triple-A level. Deivi Garcia was recalled in a corresponding move on Monday.
  • MIN Right Fielder #26
Max Kepler (head) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the White Sox.
Kepler will sit out his second consecutive contest on Saturday night after being hit in the head by an errant throw earlier this week. The 31-year-old made it through preliminary concussion protocol tests without any issues, but is presumably still being monitored. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Manuel Margot in right field once again in his absence.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis García is back in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Red Sox.
García is back in right field and batting fifth after sitting out Friday’s series opener. Meanwhile, rookie sensation Wyatt Langford is getting a rare day off on Saturday afternoon with Ezequiel Duran drawing a start in left field.
  • DET Center Fielder #22
Tigers activated OF Parker Meadows from the 10-day injured list.
Meadows will rejoin Detroit’s lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Royals following a nearly four-week absence due to a right hamstring strain. The 24-year-old outfielder showed some immense promise prior to getting hurt last month as a result of a swing adjustment that he made earlier this year at Triple-A Toledo. He’s poised to make a significant impact for fantasy managers as a power/speed threat if he’s truly managed to unlock something with his swing.
  • DET Shortstop #32
Tigers optioned INF Ryan Kreidler to Triple-A Toledo.
Kreidler heads back to the minors with Parker Meadows back from the injured list. The 26-year-old infielder batted .136 (6-for-44) with one homer and three steals in 21 games this season in his latest brief stint with Detroit.
  • DET Starting Pitcher
The Athletic’s Cody Stavenhagen reports Tigers pitching prospect Brant Hurter is likely to start Sunday against the Royals.
Hurter appears likely to start Sunday’s game against the Royals. He holds a lackluster 5.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 70/23 K/BB ratio across 71 1/3 innings (19 appearances, 18 starts) this season for Triple-A Toledo. The 25-year-old lefty isn’t a recommended option for fantasy managers.
  • PIT Shortstop #7
Pirates activated INF/OF Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the 10-day injured list.
Kiner-Falefa will make his Pirates debut this weekend after needing just one minor league rehab contest. The versatile 29-year-old was acquired earlier this week from the Blue Jays at the trade deadline and will return after missing roughly one month recovering from a right knee sprain.
  • PIT Shortstop #25
Pirates optioned INF Alika Williams to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Williams was up briefly for the Pirates in the wake of Nick Gonzales hitting the injured list. The 25-year-old has been shipped out with veteran Isiah Kiner-Falefa (knee) returning from the injured list to make his Pittsburgh debut.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #87
Tyler Holton will open Saturday’s game against the Royals.
It’ll be another opener appearance for Holton on Saturday as he continues to excel this season, reeling off 13 consecutive scoreless appearances for the Tigers dating back to June 29. Given the abbreviated nature of the outings, his fantasy appeal is strictly limited to extremely deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #48
Jacob deGrom (elbow) threw another bullpen session on Saturday.
It’s likely deGrom’s final bullpen session before he progresses to facing hitters early next week. The 36-year-old former fantasy ace, who is working his way back from last year’s Tommy John surgery, doesn’t have a lot of margin for error if he’s going to make it back before the end of the regular season. Barring any unexpected setbacks, he has a chance to return by the end of August or early September.
  • MIA Center Fielder #48
Marlins claimed OF Derek Hill off waivers from the Giants.
Hill is headed to his third different organization in less than two weeks after stints with the Rangers and Giants. The 28-year-old speedy outfielder figures to occupy a bench role for the rebuilding Marlins, but might end up playing more than expected over the final two months. He has three homers and two steals in 21 games this season in the big leagues.
