  • CWS Catcher #97
White Sox acquired C Edgar Quero and LHP Ky Bush from the Angels for RHP’s Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo López.
Quero is considered the top prospect in the Angels’ system after a breakout season last year in which he posted a .965 OPS with 17 homers in 111 games at the Single-A level. The 20-year-old switch-hitting backstop has compiled a .717 OPS at the Double-A level this season and is one of the more interesting prospects to monitor moving forward. He has a chance to be the catcher of the future in Chicago.
  • NYM Left Fielder #9
Brandon Nimmo picked up three hits and stole a base in a victory Friday over the Angels.
  • NYM First Baseman #20
Pete Alonso hit a two-run homer to help the Mets to a win over the Angels on Friday.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #58
Paul Blackburn allowed one run over six innings to get a win Friday against the Mets.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Anderson allowed three runs over five innings while picking up a loss to the Mets on Friday.
Wait, Tyler Anderson still plays for the Angels? Huh. The left-hander allowed eight hits with two walks while striking out three. Two of the runs came across on a homer by Pete Alonso, and he allowed runs in the second and sixth — the latter without retiring a batter — before exiting. Anderson still has an excellent 3.05 ERA, and will be back on the mound against the Yankees on Thursday.
  • SD Third Baseman #13
Manny Machado homered while going 2-for-4 in a loss Friday to the Rockies.
  • COL Shortstop #7
Brendan Rodgers went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored in a 5-2 win over the Padres on Friday.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #38
Viktor Vodnik allowed no runs in the ninth while picking up a save Friday against the Padres.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #26
Austin Gomber allowed two runs over seven innings in a victory over the Padres on Friday.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #98
Randy Vasquez allowed a run over five innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Friday.
Vasquez allowed three hits — one of them a solo homer to Brendan Rodgers — and struck out four against two walks. The right-hander threw 85 pitches in the outing, and 57 of them landed for strikes. It’s a nice bounce up from his struggles against the Orioles where he gave up six runs in two innings, and it lowers his ERA to 4.62 on the season. The Pirates are next for the 25-year-old.
  • TOR Right Fielder #4
George Springer was pulled from Friday night’s contest against the Yankees after six innings due to a left shin contusion.
The 34-year-old outfielder fouled a ball off of his shin during his at-bat in the sixth inning, then didn’t take the field with the Jays to begin the seventh. Fortunately, he underwent precautionary X-rays that came back negative for any fractures. Springer should be considered day-to-day.
