Orioles signed LHP T.J. McFarland to a minor league contract.
The soft-tossing McFarland opened his career in Baltimore, posting a 4.27 ERA in 121 appearances from 2013-16. He had been with the Mets organization this year, posting a 2.76 ERA in 32 2/3 innings in Triple-A and giving up two runs — one earned — in 1 2/3 innings for the major league team.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36

Wyatt Langford is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Giants.
It’s a routine maintenance day for Langford, who has been sizzling-hot since returning last weekend from the injured list, batting .522 (12-for-23) with two homers and two steals in six games during that span. It’ll be rookie Dustin Harris drawing a start in left field for Sunday’s matchup against the Giants.
Pirates' Heaney worth a fantasy rotation spot
Eric Samulski pops the hood on Andrew Heaney's impressive start for the Pittsburgh Pirates to explain why he's worth adding to fantasy rosters for spot-starts in good matchups.
  • SF Shortstop #49
Tyler Fitzgerald (chest) remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Rangers.
Fitzgerald will miss his second straight game on Sunday with a chest contusion. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be rookie Christian Koss making another start at the keystone in his absence.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #35
Rangers activated RHP Jack Leiter from the 15-day injured list.
He’s back. Leiter shouldn’t have any workload restrictions on Sunday against the Giants after throwing 60 pitches earlier this week in his final rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock. The 25-year-old former top prospect looked outstanding in a pair of early-season starts before a blister on his right middle finger sent him to the injured list. Leiter should be rostered in all fantasy formats until further notice.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #58
Rangers optioned RHP Gerson Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock.
Garabito heads back to the minors to make room for Jack Leiter on Texas’ active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Giants. The 29-year-old righty has made three relief appearances this season in the big leagues.
  • BOS Catcher #12
Connor Wong (finger) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Sunday with Triple-A Worcester.
Wong has been out since early April recovering from a fractured left finger. He figures to be ready to return to stabilize Boston’s catching mix at some point next week.
  • PIT 1st Baseman #2
Spencer Horwitz (wrist) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Sunday with Double-A Altoona.
Horwitz is likely going to need a couple weeks of rehab games to get back up to speed before making his season debut. The 27-year-old will take over as Pittsburgh’s starting first baseman once he’s ready to roll. He’s been out since early February recovering from right wrist surgery.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #76
Marlins recalled RHP Luarbert Arias from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Arias provides Miami with some extra relief depth heading into Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty has struggled in four appearances this season at the highest level.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #55
Marlins optioned RHP Connor Gillispie to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Gillispie has been shipped back to the minors after allowing at least four earned runs in each of his last three starts. The 27-year-old righty will attempt to reset back at Triple-A after posting a bloated 8.65 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 23/11 K/BB ratio across 26 innings (six innings).
  • SEA Starting Pitcher
Mariners selected the contract of RHP Logan Evans from Triple-A Tacoma.
Evans will make his major-league debut on Sunday afternoon against the rebuilding Marlins at T-Mobile Park. The 23-year-old was fast-tracked to the big leagues after being an unheralded 12th-round selection in the 2023 MLB Draft. He doesn’t miss a ton of bats, relying more on a command and control approach, and profiles as a back-end rotation stabilizer. He’ll likely get an extended opportunity with the Mariners while ace Logan Gilbert (forearm) is on the shelf.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #60
Mariners optioned LHP Tayler Saucedo to Triple-A Tacoma.
Saucedo heads back to the minors following a one-game stint with the Mariners. The 31-year-old lefty figures to return at some point down the line.
