Daniel Murphy went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a walk for Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Murphy’s comeback might just reach the majors later this season. He’s batting .324/.405/.419 with one homer and just 11 strikeouts in 84 plate appearances for the Bees.

Royals recalled RHP Jonathan Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha.
Bowlan makes the trip from Omaha to Kansas City more than any person on the planet. The right-hander is up to replace Cole Ragans (rotator cuff) on the active roster as a middle-inning option.
Move quickly to add Brewers' Misiorowski
Equipped with a triple-digit fastball and varied pitch mix, Jacob Misiorowski has emerged as a must-add starting pitcher in fantasy leagues since being called up by the Brewers.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #43
Royals designated RHP Trevor Richards for assignment.
Richards is removed from the roster to make room for a fresh arm in Jonathan Bowlan. The 32-year-old threw two scoreless innings during Tuesday’s blowout loss, but now will hit the waiver wire.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #60
Royals activated RHP Lucas Erceg off the 15-day injured list.
Erceg missed just a minimum stint on the injured list while recovering from back inflammation. He should return to a high-leverage arm in the Kansas City bullpen.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Royals placed LHP Cole Ragans on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 8, with a left rotator cuff strain.
Oh dear. Ragans was highly ineffective in his start last week against the Cardinals, and it appears that he wasn’t at 100 percent while pitching in that outing. He’s out for at least two weeks, but there’s a great chance that this will be a longer stint on the shelf for the 27-year-old. Kansas City should offer a more concrete timeline soon.
  • MIA Left Fielder #64
Heriberto Hernández homered and doubled during Wednesday’s loss to the Pirates.
  • PIT Designated Hitter #22
Andrew McCutchen hit a three-run homer to help the Pirates to a 5-2 win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #51
David Bednar hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save against the Marlins on Wednesday.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #47
Cal Quantrill struck out six while allowing four runs — three earned — over five innings and picking up a loss to the Pirates on Wednesday.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #6
Bailey Falter held the Marlins to just a run over 5 1/3 innings to get a win for the Pirates on Wednesday.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #49
Twins transferred RHP Pablo López from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Lopez was diagnosed with a teres major strain last week, and he’s expected to miss up to three months with the injury. The transfer to the 60-day list means he can’t return until August, and it opens a spot on the 40-man roster for Joey Wentz, who was claimed Wednesday from the Pirates.
