Phillies optioned RHP Connor Brogdon to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Brogdon has compiled a respectable 4.03 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 26/13 K/BB ratio across 29 innings (27 appearances, one start) this season, but has been jettisoned to make room for lefty closer José Alvarado to return from the injured list.

Kyren Paris went 2-for-3 and hit his second spring homer Monday in the Angels’ 12-3 rout of the Rockies.
If it comes down to spring results, Paris would seem to be in line to fill in at shortstop for the Angels while Zach Neto is out. The 23-year-old Paris is hitting .381 with five extra-base hits through 22 plate appearances. He’s not that good, but he’s probably a better use of a roster spot than Tim Anderson.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #63
Chase Silseth gave up three runs over four innings in his start against the Rockies on Monday.
It probably would have been worse if Silseth hadn’t picked off Zac Veen and Michael Toglia on separate plays. Silseth was making his first start of the spring today, getting the nod over Reed Detmers after three relief appearances. He’s thus far amassed an 8.71 ERA and a 13/5 K/BB in 10 1/3 innings. Silseth’s right arm remains plenty interesting, but after being limited to 35 innings last season, he probably belongs in the minors for now.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #48
Reid Detmers pitched four scoreless innings out of the pen and struck out four against the Rockies on Monday.
Detmers is being forced to compete for a rotation spot this spring, which is fair. Still, it’s hard to imagine the Angels not giving him one after declining to trade him at either the deadline last year or over the winter. Detmers has a 2.31 ERA in 11 2/3 innings this spring, so he’s making a strong case, regardless.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #49
Antonio Senzatela fanned six while allowing one run over four innings Monday against the Angels.
Senzatela has a 0.75 ERA over 12 innings in Arizona, something that isn’t at all easy to pull off. Nothing he does this month would affect his rotation status in Colorado, but it’s good to see him pitching well after a miserable two-year span that included a torn ACL and Tommy John surgery.
  • MIL Right Fielder #22
Christian Yelich launched his second spring homer on Monday in a win over the Mariners.
Break out the bubble wrap. Yelich has shown zero signs of rust this spring in his return from last August’s back surgery, which certainly bodes well for his fantasy outlook with Opening Day on the horizon. The persistent back issues aren’t going to vanish as he creeps into his mid-30’s, but he’s remains a strong OF2 option for fantasy purposes entering 2025.
  • SEA Center Fielder #20
Luke Raley went 1-for-3 with a walk and also scored a run on Monday in a loss to the Brewers.
Raley offers double-digit home run and stolen base potential, which gives him some fantasy relevance in deeper mixed leagues. He’s a borderline OF5 option in shallow mixers with the chance to take another leap forward if he builds on last year’s 22-homer, 11-steal performance. He’s going to strike out roughly 30 percent of the time, which limits his batting average ceiling, but he’s a decent end-game dart throw in most leagues.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #36
Tobias Myers gave up three runs over 2 1/3 innings on Monday against the Mariners.
Myers gave up six hits, including a two-run blast to Mitch Garver, before being lifted in the third inning. He struck out three and only issued one walk. The 26-year-old righty is locked into Milwaukee’s season-opening rotation, but doesn’t offer a ton of fantasy appeal outside of deeper mixed leagues. He’s a borderline top-100 option at the moment in fantasy drafts.
  • CLE Shortstop #77
Will Wilson had a two-run homer and an RBI single Monday to power the Guardians past the Royals 5-2.
Wilson’s homer off Kris Bubic checked in at 110.4 mph and 444 feet, and he has had a 99.1-mph single and a 105.9-mph groundout against Michael Lorenzen. Wilson’s claim to fame to date is that he’s the first-round pick the Angels tossed aside to get the Giants to take Zack Cozart’s contract after the 2019 season. In five years in the Giants system, he hit just .232/.311/.385, and the Guardians picked him up as a minor league free agent over the winter. Little was expected to come of the addition, but maybe the Guardians have unlocked something here. He’s still almost certainly bound for the minors to start the season.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #39
Ben Lively shut out the Royals for four innings Monday in the Guardians’ 5-2 victory.
He allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three. Lively, a lock to return to the Cleveland rotation, has allowed one run in nine innings to date. He’s not at all exciting for fantasy purposes, but he’s given the Guardians a reliable starter at a bargain price.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #50
Kris Bubic worked three innings and allowed two runs Monday against the Guardians.
Bubic is throwing just as hard now as a starter as he did after returning from Tommy John as a reliever last summer, so that’s a good sign for the Royals. He’s not promised a rotation spot yet, but the guess is that he’ll claim one and more than justify it early on. It is likely, though, that even if things go well, workload concerns will result in a return to the pen at some point during the summer.
