After coming in with the Astros down 2-0, Rafael Montero gave up four runs in an inning against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Montero had a fine April, but he’s allowed 13 runs in 7 2/3 innings this month, leaving him with a 7.32 ERA for the year. He probably won’t be much of a threat for holds again until he strings some quality outings together.

Carlos Santana homered and went 2-for-3 while driving in two runs in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
It’s Santana’s first homer in his return season for the Guardians. The 38-year-old also drove in a run in the fifth on a fielder’s choice. Santana also drew a walk and scored another run, and has looked solid in his first week-plus with a .290 average and .795 OPS over 31 at-bats.
  • LAA Catcher #14
Logan O’Hoppe went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in a win over the Guardians on Saturday.
O’Hoppe continues to mash, and is now up to four homers on the season in the first eight games. He also singled twice, and his slash is up to .320/.346/.800. That’s not sustainable, but O’Hoppe does have more upside than the overwhelming majority of catchers.
  • LAA Shortstop #2
Luis Rengifo went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in a blowout win over the Guardians on Saturday.
Rengifo left Friday’s game with tightness in his hamstring, but it didn’t appear to be bugging him Saturday. He hit one of the four roundtrippers for the Halos against Tanner Bibee, and it’s his first of 2025. Rengifo is a very flawed player, but there are just enough nights like this to make him worthy of roster consideration, even if there should be better options out there.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Mike Trout hit a two-run homer in the Angels’ 10-4 win over the Guardians on Saturday.
Trout hit one of the four homers for the Angels off Tanner Bibee. The future Hall of Famer has had no problem showing off the power in 2025 with three homers and a .517 slugging percentage over a week of games. That .172 average is a bit problematic so far, but Trout is too good of hitter to be too worried about that. It’s fun to see the 33-year-old having success, even in a limited sample.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #41
Jack Kochanowicz got a win while allowing three runs over five innings against the Guardians on Saturday.
Kochanowicz wasn’t great or anything close Saturday evening, but he didn’t have to be with the Angels providing double-digit run support. The 24-year-old allowed a pair of homers, and he struck out four against three walks. Kochanowicz is a quality backend real-life starter. He just doesn’t miss enough bats to trust against decent lineups from a fantasy perspective. The Astros come next for him Friday.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #28
Tanner Bibee gave up seven runs while working just four innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
Bibee couldn’t keep the ball in the park Saturday, as he gave up four homers in the contest; three of those of the two-run variety. He was able to strikeout four against one walk, but that’s of little consolation. Bibee was excellent in the opener, but clearly didn’t have it in his second outing. His third will come in a rematch against the Royals over the weekend.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #92
Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox will recall Hunter Dobbins on Sunday.
Dobbins will likely be the 27th player for the Red Sox in their doubleheader against the Cardinals, but that’s not confirmed. The 25-year-old isn’t a good option for fantasy, but a chance to make his MLB debut is fun.
  • SEA Shortstop #25
Dylan Moore went 2-for-4 with a homer in a loss to the Giants on Saturday.
Moore was responsible for the only run of the game with a solo shot off Robbie Ray. The 32-year-old slugged an impressive .478 on the road in 2024, which is good. That number was .234 at home, which is also a number.
  • SF Third Baseman #26
Matt Chapman doubled twice and drove in two runs against the Mariners on Saturday.
Chapman doubled in a run in the fourth off Bryce Miller, and hit another two-bagger to score another in the sixth off Trent Thornton. He and seemingly every other Giant is off to a great start with a slash of .310/.429/.586 to show for it.
  • SF Center Fielder #51
Jung Hoo Lee doubled twice and scored two runs while stealing a base in a 4-1 victory for the Giants over the Mariners on Saturday.
Lee, 26, could have had a triple — or maybe even an inside-the-park homer — if it wouldn’t have gone over the fence for a ground-rule double. The 26-year-old has looked healthy to begin 2025, and has an OPS of .887 over the first eight games. Fantasy managers who selected Lee (almost assuredly) late have to be thrilled with what they’ve seen. They should be.
