JT Riddle has elected free agency.
Riddle was acquired from the Reds in a small trade back in May and didn’t end up making an appearance for the Mets. The 31-year-old journeyman offers some defensive versatility and could wind up landing somewhere this offseason as organizational position player depth.

Logan O’Hoppe went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a 7-5 win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
O’Hoppe put the Angels on the board with a solo homer off Gunnar Hoglund in the fourth inning, his 11th of the season. He then drove in a second run with a base hit in the fifth to give the Angels the lead. The 25-year-old catcher is slashing a strong .264/.296/.500 with the 11 homers and 25 RBI across 152 plate appearances.
Birdsong set to replace Hicks in Giants rotation
The San Francisco Giants are shaking up their starting rotation by replacing Jordan Hicks with Hayden Birdsong, and Eric Samulski examines what to expect from the 23-year-old starter in fantasy baseball.
  • LAA 3rd Baseman #5
Yoán Moncada went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer against the Athletics on Tuesday.
Moncada’s only hit of the day was a big one as he took Gunnar Hoglund deep for a three-run blast in the fifth inning. He later added a base hit in the ninth for his second hit and just his second multi-hit effort on the season. The 29-year-old third baseman is up to four homers while hitting .229/.349/.486 with 16 RBI across 83 plate appearances.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
Nick Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Angels on Tuesday.
Kurtz was riding a six-game hitless streak before getting on base with a single in the second inning. He then went yard for his second home run of the season with a two-run blast in the fourth off Kyle Hendricks. The 22-year-old first baseman is hitting .222/.270/.346 with eight RBI across 89 plate appearances.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Shea Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored against the Angels on Tuesday.
Langeliers knocked a base hit in the second inning and scored the first run of the game on a single by Luis Urías. He later led off the fourth with a solo homer off Kyle Hendricks for his ninth home run of the season while slashing .256/.320/.463 with 25 RBI across 178 plate appearances.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #74
Kenley Jansen allowed one run while striking out two batters for the save against the Athletics on Tuesday.
Jansen was given a three-run lead in the ninth for the save chance. He gave up a run on two hits while striking out to batters to hold on for the save. It was his tenth of the season to go with a 5.28 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 16 innings.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #28
Kyle Hendricks allowed four runs with three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win against the Athletics on Tuesday.
The A’s brought a run in on Hendricks in the second inning on three hits. Shea Langeliers later led off the fourth inning with a solo homer. Nick Kurtz then took him deep for a two-run shot. Hendricks would leave with two out and one runner on the sixth at 90 pitches -- 63 for strikes. He struck out three with no walks. The 35-year-old right-hander will take a 5.32 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 28/16 K/BB ratio across 47 1/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Anaheim on Sunday.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #53
Gunnar Hoglund allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss against the Angels on Tuesday.
Hoglund got through three scoreless innings before Logan O’Hoppe took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. He ran into more trouble in the fifth as Yoán Moncada went yard for a three-run homer. Hoglund would leave with two outs and a runner on. The inherited runner would eventually score. The 25-year-old right-hander will look to put this one behind him when he takes a 5.06 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 20/6 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings into a start against the Phillies in Sacramento on Sunday.
  • SF Shortstop #2
Willy Adames went 1-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and one RBI in a 3-2 win over the Royals on Tuesday.
Adames put the Giants on the board in the fourth inning with a triple to deep right center field before scoring on a base hit by Casey Schmitt. The triple breaks a three-game hitless streak just as he was turning things around in May. The 29-year-old shortstop is hitting .220/.301/.361 with five homers, 29 runs scored, and 23 RBI across 216 plate appearances.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #74
Ryan Walker tossed a clean ninth inning to record the save against the Royals on Tuesday.
Walker was called on in the top of the ninth to close out the game against the Royals with a one-run lead. He needed just eight pitches to get the job done for his ninth save of the season. The outing gives Walker four straight scoreless appearances as he looks to be getting on track.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #60
Hayden Birdsong allowed one run, zero earned, with four strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Royals on Tuesday.
Birdsong was outstanding in his first start of the season for the Giants, holding the Royals to one unearned run over five innings. He tossed 54-of-80 pitches for strikes and generated 11 whiffs to strike out four batters with no walks allowed. The 23-year-old right-hander will get his second start Monday against the Tigers in Detroit. Birdsong should continue to have success if he can limit walks as he did Tuesday and his upside makes him an add in all fantasy formats.
