Reds signed first-round pick 3B Sal Stewart.
Stewart possesses light-tower over-the-fence pop and wound up landing with the Reds on the final first-round selection (32nd overall) in the 2022 MLB Draft. He’ll reportedly receive a $2.1 million signing bonus.

Drew Waters went 3-for-4 with a homer and a triple on Tuesday, as the Royals eked out a 4-3 victory over the Rockies in 11 innings.
Waters finally snapped a scoreless tie with his 408-foot (100.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Ryan Feltner to lead off the sixth inning. He then tripled in the ninth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Michael Massey. He has done a decent job so far for the Royals this season, slashing .273/.314/.455 with one homer, two RBI and one stolen base in his first 34 plate appearances. He remains irrelevant for fantasy purposes.
  • KC Catcher #34
Freddy Fermin played the role of hero for the Royals on Tuesday evening delivering a walk-off RBI single in the 11th inning to sink the Rockies.
After both teams failed to score in the 10th inning of this one, the Royals loaded the bases with no outs in the 11th. Fermin then strolled to the dish against Tyler Kinley and after fouling off a tough 0-2 offering, he singled into center to bring in Mark Canha with the winning run. He’s off to a painfully slow start at the plate this season, slashing a meager .212/.257/.303 with one home run and three RBI in his first 35 plate appearances.

Carlos Estévez suffered his second blown save of the season on Tuesday, giving up three runs on one hit and three walks in a brutal inning against the Rockies.
Oof. Estévez came on with a two-run lead to protect, and looked like he was going to breeze through the ninth inning after getting the first two outs before issuing a walk to Ryan McMahon. He then got ahead of Hunter Goodman 1-2 before walking him after an eight-pitch battle and then walked Michael Toglia on four pitches to load the bases. Estévez then got ahead of Jacob Stallings 0-2 before allowing a go-ahead three-run double. Even with this debacle, the 32-year-old hurler holds a respectable 3.38 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 11 innings to start the season. His job isn’t in jeopardy just yet, but with Lucas Erceg looming, he’ll need to be better his next few times out or he could start feeling the heat.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #50
Kris Bubic delivered an outstanding performance in a tough-luck no-decision against the Rockies on Tuesday night, piling up six strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.
The 27-year-old southpaw scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a single batter. All four of the hits against him in the contest were singles and only once did the Rockies have a runner reach second base against him. Complete dominance. He exited with a one-run lead intact, but Carlos Estévez was unable to protect it for him in the ninth inning. Bubic generated 14 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night — half of those on his fastball — while registering a CSW of 31 percent. Still 2-1 on the season, he’ll carry a pristine 1.45 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 33/9 K/BB ratio (31 innings) into Sunday’s battle against the Astros.
  • COL Catcher #25
Jacob Stallings smacked a go-ahead three-run double in the ninth inning on Tuesday, but it still wasn’t enough to lead the Rockies to victory over the Royals.
The Rockies entered the ninth inning facing a 2-0 deficit having but completely shut down by Kris Bubic and Lucas Erceg through the first eight frames. They rallied with two outs as three consecutive Rockies’ hitters worked Carlos Estévez for walks, then Stalling delivered a bases-clearing double to give the Rockies a 3-2 lead. It would be short-lived though. The 35-year-old backstop finished the night 1-for-4 and is slashing a woeful .156/.289/.219 on the season with no homers and five RBI.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #18
Ryan Feltner was terrific in a no-decision against the Royals on Tuesday, allowing only one run on three hits over seven strong frames.
Feltner walked one and struck out four on the night. The lone blemish on his evening came on a leadoff solo home run off the bat of Drew Waters to open the sixth inning. Aside from that, he was brilliant. Unfortunately, the Rockies were unable to scratch out even a single run of support for him. The 28-year-old hurler generated nine swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll attempt to build off of this strong outing as he totes a 3.86 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 21/11 K/BB ratio (25 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Reds at Coors Field.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #27
Mark Vientos doubled in a run and walked Tuesday in the Mets’ 5-1 defeat of the Phillies.
Vientos, who is dealing with a groin injury, made his first start in three days and played nine innings for the first time in five days. To go along with the double tonight, he had a 337-foot flyout down the line that would have been a homer in seven ballparks.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #46
Griffin Canning pitched five innings of one-run ball in a win over the Phillies on Tuesday.
The Mets let Canning throw 102 pitches over six innings against the Cardinals last time out, but he was lifted after 84 pitches in another effective outing tonight. He has a 3.12 ERA after five turns, and even with the early exits, he’s gone 3-1. He’s slated to face the Nationals on Monday, and he makes for a solid streaming option in a two-start week.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 on Tuesday to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
Both hits tonight were singles. Bohm is still without a homer even though he’s been credited with six barrels this season. At least he’s raised his average from .150 to 211 during the hitting streak.
  • STL 2nd Baseman #16
Nolan Gorman delivered a go-ahead three-run double in the eighth inning on Tuesday night, propelling the Cardinals to a 10-4 victory over the Braves.
Gorman wasn’t even in the Cardinals’ original starting lineup on Tuesday, he was a late addition after Brendan Donovan was scratched due to soreness in his ribs. He made the most of the opportunity though, breaking a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning with his three-run double to right off of Enyel De Los Santos. That would be his lone hit in five at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 24-year-old slugger is now hitting .250/.317/.444 with one home run and seven RBI through his first 41 plate appearances.
