Kudrna allowed two hits and struck out three, but did hit a batter and issue two free passes. The right-hander has been treated carefully by the Royals in his first full professional season with the club, and the 19-year-old has posted a 1.96 ERA over seven starts and 23 innings with the Fireflies. The 43rd pick of last year’s draft, Kudrna can miss bats with three plus pitches, but his command is miles away as seen in 14 free passes in those 23 frames. As he fills out his 6-foot-3 frame he should be able to repeat his delivery on a more consistent basis, and he projects as a starter in the long-term. You may not see him in the majors until 2025, but if Kudrna fulfills his potential, he could end up a top-of-the-rotation arm. There’s a wide variety of outcomes with this type of profile, however.

Quero is currently in Arizona rehabbing the shoulder injury that caused him to miss most of the 2024 season. The 22-year-old backstop will remain at the complex in Maryville, and the hope is he’ll be able to head to Triple-A Nashville in the coming weeks. Quero is one of the best catching prospects in baseball.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that Montas has begun throwing from 60 feet away. The right-hander will likely need a few bullpens and multiple rehab appearances before he’ll be ready to rejoin the Mets’ rotation at some point late in the spring, and that’s assuming no setbacks.

Holliday will take a seat for the first time in 2025 against left-hander Garrett Crochet. That means Jordan Westburg will handle duties at second base with Ramon Urias getting a start at the hot corner.

Moniak is still just 26, but he hasn’t shown anything that suggest there’s fantasy potential in his left-handed bat; even playing in a home park like Coors Field. Dobnak cleared waivers after being designated for assignment. The 30-year-old provides depth for Minnesota, and while he’ll need to be added to the 40-man roster to do so, it wouldn’t be an upset if he made more appearances with the Twins in 2025.

Leiter faced just one batter over the minimum before departing. The Rangers are calling his exit precautionary, so while his status for his next start is still up in the air, there’s a decent chance he’ll be able to take the mound next week.

Hill also missed Tuesday’s game because of the tightness in his back. The 29-year-old outfielder will give way to Javier Sanoja, but Marlins manager Clayton McCullough told reporters that Hill will be available off the bench.

It’ll be the first day off of the year for Rocchio. The 24-year-old slick-field shortstop will get the day off with Gabriel Arias handling his duties and hitting eighth.

Campbell left Monday’s start against the Blue Jays with cramps in his biceps, but for now, the Nationals are confident that the injury won’t be a long-term issue. If Soroka has any sort of setback, there’s a very good chance the Nationals will change their tune, but for now he’s on track to make his next start.

Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic notes that the deal includes a $4 million signing bonus, and the options are for $19 million in 2033 and $21 million in 2034. There’s also a $4 million buyout of those options. It was reported Saturday that the 22-year-old and Boston were deep in talks for a contract extension, and now it’s official. Campbell offers massive fantasy upside, and he has a chance to be a superstar in the coming seasons.
