Shohei Ohtani homered and drove in two runs in an extra-inning loss Monday to the Mets.

Ohtani tied Cal Raleigh aka Big Dumper with his 23rd homer of the season in the seventh inning. He drove in his next run in the bottom of the ninth, and it was a sac fly that tied the game at 2-2 and sent the contest to extras. Ohtani has been incredible in 2025 with a .292 average and 1.047 OPS to go with those roundtrippers.

Francisco Lindor homered and drove in two runs while adding a stolen base in a 4-3 extra-inning win over the Dodgers on Monday.

Lindor bookended the scoring the Mets in the extra-inning win. He hit a leadoff homer to give the club a 1-0 lead off Dustin May, and then he extended New York’s lead to 4-2 with an RBI single in the 10th. Lindor also added his 11th steal on the season, and that pairs well with 14 homers and 36 RBI for the star shortstop.

Paul Blackburn

NYM Starting Pitcher #58

Paul Blackburn blanked the Dodgers over five innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.

Fantasy managers had every right to be skeptical of Blackburn making his season debut against a team like the Dodgers, but he made a lot of people feel foolish with this outing. He gave up just three hits with one walk, and he was able to strike out three against the loaded Los Angeles lineup, even if it was without Mookie Betts. Blackburn doesn’t have another start scheduled yet, but there’s a pretty good chance he’ll pitch against the Rockies over the weekend.

Dustin May

LAD Starting Pitcher #85

Dustin May went six innings while allowing two runs in a no-decision against the Mets on Monday.

May’s evening started poorly when he gave up a leadoff homer to Francisco Lindor, but the right-hander settled down quite nicely from that point on. The only other blemish was a ground-rule double by Brandon Nimmo to score a run in the fifth, and he gave up just four other hits with five strikeouts against two walks. May has looked way better as of late, and he’s worthy of streaming consideration against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Edwin Diaz

NYM Relief Pitcher #39
Edwin Díaz gave up a run and blew a save Monday, but he was able to pick up a win against the Dodgers.

Díaz gave up a sacrifice fly to Shohei Ohtani that caused him to blow his first save of 2025. Fantasy managers take a hit in the ERA as well, but they at least get a win since the Mets scored two in the next frame, with Jose Butto getting a two-out save in the 10th. Diaz did strike out two as well, and his ERA remains a very solid 2.49.

Lawrence Butler

Lawrence Butler hit a three-run homer while going 2-for-2 in a loss to the Twins on Monday.

Butler also drew three walks in the contest, so it was a five-reach game with a three-run homer. That’ll play. The 24-year-old has been a decent power/speed play in 2025 with nine homers and steals, respectively, and he hasn’t killed fantasy managers with a .260 average in the process. It’s maybe not the star level he played at in the second half of 2024, but it’s far from unplayable. On the contrary, really.

Ty France

MIN 1st Baseman #13

Ty France drove in two runs while going 3-for-5 in a win Monday for the Twins over the Athletics.

France singled for all three of his hits, and he improved his average to .269 while ticking up his slugging to .370. He’s helped the Twins more than anticipated after his struggles over the last two years, but he’s still not good enough to be in a fantasy lineup right now.

Byron Buxton

MIN Center Fielder #25

Byron Buxton drove in five runs and stole a base in the Twins’ 10-4 win over the Athletics on Monday.

It’s not often you see a five-RBI game with no homers, but Buxton was able to do it Monday. The 31-year-old had a pair of two-run hits in the win — a double and a single — and he added a sac fly in the ninth. The stolen base was his 10th of 2025, and he’s now slashing .270/.311/.454 with 35 RBI over the first two months. You can definitely do worse.

Luis Severino

ATH Starting Pitcher #40

Luis Severino was shelled for eight runs in 5 1/3 innings while picking up a loss to the Twins on Monday.

Severino was awful Monday, as he didn’t fool the Minnesota lineup whatsoever while allowing nine hits and striking out just one batter. The right-hander has had some decent outings, but there have been a fair share of clunkers as seen in his 4.54 ERA. Severino is too tough to trust as anything more than a streaming option, but he does get a chance to rebound against the Orioles on Saturday.

Joe Ryan

MIN Starting Pitcher #41

Joe Ryan picked up a win over the Athletics on Monday while allowing four runs in five innings.

Three of the runs allowed by Ryan came on one swing by Lawrence Butler. Outside of that, the right-hander was so-so, as he allowed six hits and three walks against four strikeouts. Ryan was due for a shaky outing considering how good he’s been for most of 2025, and he was still able to improve his win-loss record to 6-2, even if maybe he wasn’t overly deserving of the victory. He’ll try and lower his 2.91 ERA over the weekend against the Blue Jays.
