Reds designated INF/OF JT Riddle for assignment.
Riddle was up for a handful of games with the Reds after Jonathan India and Mike Moustakas sustained injuries earlier this month. There’s a strong possibility that he passes through waivers unclaimed and remains with the organization.

Jared Jones (elbow) has opted to undergo season-ending elbow surgery.
Jones reportedly felt discomfort in his elbow late last week when he started throwing at 100 feet. The 23-year-old will undergo surgery on Wednesday, though the specifics aren’t yet known. The Pirates will have a clearer timeline for his recovery after the procedure, but at the very least we know that he’s done for the year.
Judge's current Triple Crown odds are a 'value'
With value hard to come by in MVP markets, Vaughn Dalzell and Brad Thomas share why bettors should quickly turn their attention to Aaron Judge’s Triple Crown odds, which currently offer real value as June nears.
  • MIN Right Fielder #38
Matt Wallner (hamstring) is starting at designated hitter for Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.
Wallner has been out since April 17th with a hamstring injury, so it’s nice to see him back in the lineup. He will likely play a few games at designated hitter before then moving into the field. Once he can play the outfield for a full game, or perhaps even in back-to-back games, the Twins will start to think about bringing him back into the lineup.
  • TB Shortstop #6
Taylor Walls has been scratched from the Rays’ lineup on Wednesday against the Astros with a groin injury.
Manager Kevin Cash said it’s “a little bit of a sore groin,” but the team is not expecting it “to be an extended thing.” It sounds like Walls could return this weekend. On Wednesday, Jose Caballero will shift back to shortstop with Curtis Mead entering the lineup at third base and batting eighth.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa is “coming along” from his concussion, but there is no timeline for when he or Byron Buxton (concussion) will be ready to return to the Twins’ lineup.
Correa is reportedly ahead of Buxton in terms of a return to play, but neither one of them seems ready to be activated imminently. Perhaps we’ll get ore clarity in the next couple of days.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #43
Hunter Bigge (lat) woke up feeling sore and won’t head to Triple-A Durham as planned.
Bigge was supposed to pitch out of the bullpen for Durham on Friday, but will now take some time to rest and hope his lat responds from there.
  • SEA Right Fielder #8
Dominic Canzone went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old is now hitting .318/.359/.700 in 28 games at Triple-A with 12 home runs and 29 RBI. He probably warrants a promotion at this point.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #50
Reds activated LHP Sam Moll from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville.
Moll has been on the IL with a shoulder impingement since April 14th, so his rehab time had run out. Instead of putting him in the MLB bullpen, the Reds will have him continue to work in the minor leagues.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #91
Mets RHP prospect Brandon Sproat allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in four innings for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Sproat also struck out only one batter on the day while also walking one. The 24-year-old now has a 6.69 ERA and just 27 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season. His chances of reaching the big leagues this season seem to be diminishing with each start.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #36
Joe Boyle allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in four innings for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
Perhaps more troubling is that Boyle walked four in the outing, while also striking out five. Command has always been Boyle’s Achilles heel, and it seemed like he had overcome those issues this season, but four walks in four innings is a step back. It also came against a solid Red Sox Triple-A lineup. Even with Shane Baz and Taj Bradley, the Rays will likely keep Boyle down in Triple-A until he can hammer out these command issues.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman
Otto Kemp went 2-for-3 with two walks, a home run, and a steal for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Kemp is now hitting .318 with 11 home runs and nine steals in 44 games at Triple-A this season. He has started most of his games at third base, but also played first base, second base, and left field. The Phillies don’t currently have a spot for him on the active roster, but he’s trying to knock the door down.
