    Rio Ruiz is close to signing with the LG Twins of Korea, according to Daniel Kim.
    It’s a good move for the 27-year-old Ruiz, who has spent parts of the last six seasons in the majors but has struggled to establish himself. Overall, he’s hit .212/.287/.357 in 849 at-bats for the Braves, Orioles and Rockies.

    Travis Jankowski went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the Rays’ 3-2 win over the Brewers on Saturday.
    Jankowski got the start in right field over Jose Caballero with a right-handed pitcher on the mound and drove in two of Tampa’s three runs on the day. After knocking a base hit in the second inning, he brought Kameron Misner home on a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Jankowski later walked it off with a base hit in the bottom of the ninth to score Misner from second base. The veteran 33-year-out outfielder is hitting .286/.316/.314 with six runs scored and two steals over 38 plate appearances.

    Jackson Chourio went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Rays on Saturday.
    Chourio went yard off Taj Bradley in the third inning to score the first run of the game. It was the only hit for Chourio in Milwaukee’s 3-2 loss. The 21-year-old outfielder is hitting .266/.282/.479 with seven homers, 25 runs scored, 25 RBI, and five steals across 174 plate appearances.

    Pete Fairbanks tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win against the Brewers on Saturday.
    Fairbanks took the mound in the top of the ninth with the game tied against the Brewers. He worked around a walk, striking out one batter to keep the game tied going into the bottom of the inning. The Rays would walk it off, putting Fairbanks in line for his third win. Thje 31-year-old right-hander has posted a 1.65 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 15/8 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings to go with eight saves.

    Taj Bradley allowed two runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Saturday.
    Bradley tossed two scoreless frames before giving up a solo homer to Jackson Chourio in the third inning. Joey Ortiz later pulled one just inside the right field foul pole for a solo shot in the fifth. Bradley would pitch one more inning following a rain delay, ending a solid day on the mound with a quality start. The 24-year-old right-hander will take a 4.24 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 35/19 K/BB ratio across 46 2/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Miami on Friday.

    Tobias Myers allowed two runs with three strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.
    Myers tossed three scoreless frames before giving up two runs in the fourth on a walk, two hits, and a sacrifice fly. He’s given up no more than two runs in a start but isn’t going very deep into games at this point. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 3.86 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and an 11/10 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in Milwaukee next Saturday.

    Matt Olson with 1-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in a 3-2 win over the Pirates on Saturday.
    Olson took Andrew Heaney deep for a solo homer in the third inning for Atlanta’s second run of the game. It was still a 2-2 contest in the 11th inning when Olson started the inning on second base and scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch. The 31-year-old first baseman is hitting .221/.353/.407 with seven homers and 21 RBI across 170 plate appearances.

    David Bednar struck out two in the eighth inning on Saturday against the Braves.
    Bednar got the eighth inning against the heart of the Braves lineup with the Pirates down by one run. He actually recorded four outs as Ozzie Albies reached on a throwing error after striking out. Bednar struck out two in the scoreless inning. Dennis Santana took the ninth with the game tied for a scoreless inning to take it to extra inning. Bednar has allowed two runs over ten innings with a 15/1 K/BB ratio since retuning from the minors on April 19. Save chances have come few and far between for the Pirates, but it seems the team will be utilizing a matchup-based approach to the ninth inning with Bednar facing the tougher part of the order.

    A.J. Smith-Shawver allowed one run with seven strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday.
    Smith-Shawver gave up two base hits to start the second inning and left both runners stranded by striking out the next three batters. Two walks and a base hit put the Pirates on the board with one run in the third. He would pitch into the sixth, leaving with two outs and two runners on at 97 pitches -- 59 for strikes. Smith-Shawver struck out seven on 13 whiffs. The 22-year-old right-hander will look to keep it going when it takes a 2.76 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 34/15 K/BB ratio across 32 2/3 innings into a start against the Nationals in Atlanta on Thursday.

    Andrew Heaney allowed two runs with two strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Saturday.
    Back-to-back doubles put the Braves on the board with a run in the second inning. Matt Olson then took Heaney deep for a solo homer in the third. Heaney kept Atlanta off the board for three more innings, ending his day with a quality start. He’s struggled to miss bats of late, collecting just five strikeouts over his last three starts. The 33-year-old southpaw with take a 3.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 36/16 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings into a road start against the Phillies on Friday.

    Shea Langeliers went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in the Athletics’ 11-7 win over the Yankees on Saturday.
    Langeliers knocked base hits in the third and fifth inning before stepping to the plate with two runners on in the seventh. He came through in a big spot, taking Fernando Cruz deep to center field for a three-run blast to put the A’s ahead. Langeliers then extended the lead with a two-run double in the ninth. The 27-year-old catcher is slashing .248/.308/.473 with eight homers and 22 RBI over 143 plate appearances. Langeliers has made tremendous strides in his contact skills, cutting his strikeout rate to an excellent 14.7 percent.
