Angels signed RHP Luis Ledo to a minor league contract.
Ledo recorded a serviceable 4.17 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 52/20 K/BB ratio across 34 relief appearances at Double-A Birmingham in the White Sox’ minor-league system last season. The 26-year-old righty, who checks in at a massive 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, will serve as organizational relief depth for the Angels moving forward.

Caden Dana allowed four runs on three hits in 1/3 of an inning for Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
He also walked two in his short outing. There is no word yet on whether there was any injury, but Dana came into the day with a 3.03 ERA, so the rest of his season had been much better. However, he has now been throwing his four-seam fastball almost 70 percent of the time in recent starts, which is a weird choice for a pitcher who has average MLB velocity and slightly above-average movement. The Angels continue to struggle to develop any MLB-ready pitching talent.
Houck might be removed from Red Sox rotation
Eric Samulski discusses Tanner Houck's struggles with the Boston Red Sox, explaining why the starting pitcher might be removed from the team's rotation and sent to the minor leagues.
  • CWS Left Fielder #15
Austin Slater (knee) went 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, and a run scored for Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
Slater has missed the last month with a torn meniscus and is still just DHing on his rehab assignment. He may be at least another week away from returning, but considering both Joshua Palacios and Michael A Taylor are out of minor league options, the White Sox may have to send Brooks Baldwin to the minors when Slater is ready to come back.
  • BAL 3rd Baseman #11
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Jordan Westburg (hamstring) suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring strain.
Westburg has now stopped running and will focus on resting his hamstring before continuing his progression again. That makes the timeline for the 26-year-old very nebulous. He’ll need to ensure his hamstring feels strong again before beginning to start running again, and then his hamstring will need to respond well to running before the Orioles even think about beginning a rehab assignment. At this point, it feels like a mid-June return might be the best-case scenario for Westburg.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #1
Connor Norby has started to find success with some recent swing changes.
Norby’s season got off to a slow start due to injury, and he admitted that his swing hasn’t felt right for most of the year. Recently, he has been working with assistant general manager Gabe Kapler to flatten his bat path and correct his rotation. Additionally, Norby has been working on letting the ball travel more so that he can make better swing decisions. “If anything, I’m trying to get back the other way more. I’m not trying to pull the ball really at all.” The changes appear to be working as Norby has an eight-game hitting streak in which he has batted .357 (10-for-28) with two doubles, one triple, one homer, three RBIs, two walks, and six strikeouts.
  • CLE 1st Baseman #41
Carlos Santana is on the bench for Wednesday’s game against the Brewers.
Jose Ramirez is starting at designated hitter on Wednesday, so the Guardians will play Kyle Manzardo at first base and give the 39-year-old Santana a rest day.
  • CLE 2nd Baseman #1
Angel Martínez is starting at second base for the Guardians and batting eighth on Wednesday against the Brewers.
Martínez had started five of the last six games in center field, but the Guardians will play Nolan Jones there on Wednesday with Jhonkensy Noel in right field. Martínez has hit well enough to remain in the lineup, so Daniel Schneeman will shift to third base and Jose Ramirez will DH on Wednesday.
  • STL Right Fielder #41
Alec Burleson is on the bench for the Cardinals for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Phillies on Wednesday.
The Phillies will start Jesus Luzardo in Game 1, so Burleson will take a seat with Ivan Herrera starting at DH and Pedro Pages catching. With Aaron Nola on the mound in Game 2, Burleson should play the second game of the doubleheader with Pages on the bench.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh is playing center field and batting eighth for the Phillies in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Marsh had sat out the last two games despite only one of them being against a left-handed pitcher. He’ll be back in the order on Wednesday, although it remains to be seen if he’ll start both games despite the Cardinals starting two right-handed pitchers.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #37
DL Hall (lat) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville.
The 26-year-old was tremendous as a reliever for the Orioles in 2023 when he was coming back from injury, and the Brewers have said he will shift into that role for the short term as he returns from his lat injury. If the Brewers were to fall out of contention, they could easily stretch him out as a starter again, but a move to the bullpen will allow Hall to help the MLB team sooner.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #52
Brewers optioned LHP Bryan Hudson to Triple-A Nashville.
The Brewers needed a roster spot for Logan Henderson, who is starting on Wednesday, so Hudson was sent back to the minors. He could be called back up when the Brewers need another bullpen arm.
