Plutko will head to free agency after posting a lackluster 6.71 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 44/27 K/BB ratio across 56 1/3 innings (38 appearances, one start) with the Orioles this season.

Toglia sits for the second time in the last five games as his season-long struggle at the dish continues. The 26-year-old all-or-nothing slugger has struck out in nearly 40 percent of his 184 plate appearances over 47 games and has just six round-trippers during that span. He’s been a complete non-factor for fantasy purposes, which is extremely disappointing on the heels of last year’s 25-homer breakthrough.

Díaz had two of the four hardest-hit balls of the day with a 107 mph lineout and a 108.3 mph home run that traveled 435 feet. It was just a 5-4 Tampa Bay lead in the eighth inning with two runners on when Díaz launched his seventh home run of the season to break the game wide open. The veteran now has four home runs and 14 RBI in 16 games in May.

Simpson had an RBI single in the first inning and then promptly stole second base. It was his 12th steal of the season in just 28 MLB games. He’s also hitting .289/.314/.330 and should not be on waiver wires in leagues if you need stolen bases.

Lowe’s second home run of the season was a 410-foot shot off Hunter Brown that left the bat at 105.2 mph. It’s only been eight games this season, but the 27-year-old remains an intriguing power/speed option in all fantasy league types.

It’ll be prospect Robert Hassell III, also known as Bobby Barrels, making his big-league debut on Wednesday night in center field with Young missing his third straight game with a left shoulder ailment.

Both of Paredes’ home runs traveled exactly 407 feet, which is pretty wild. The first one left the bat at 100.7 mph off of Taj Bradley, and the second was a 101.3 mph blast off Edwin Uceta in the eighth. Paredes is now up to 10 home runs and 28 RBI on the season while hitting .270. He’s been a solid addition to this Astros lineup.

Rosario remains out of the lineup for the fifth straight game. He hasn’t appeared in a game since last Thursday after suffering a leg injury that required stitches in a bizarre off-field incident at the team’s hotel. He’s presumably still day-to-day for now.

Bradley was coming off an outing in which he allowed five runs over four innings against the Marlins, so this was a nice bounce-back effort. The 24-year-old posted seven strikeouts and two walks while registering a 27 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. He leaned heavily on his four-seam fastball today, throwing it 60 percent of the time, but was able to get ahead with the pitch and then get chases with his little-used secondary offerings. He’ll get another solid matchup against a banged-up Twins lineup next week.

It’s another wrinkle in the Red Sox’ first base quagmire. Gonzalez was only expected to miss a couple weeks with a quad contusion, but it sounds like he’s going to need more time than anticipated. Cora told reporters earlier this week that rookie Kristian Campbell is not close to playing the position in games yet, but he continues to go through defensive drills at the position and figures to be an option at some point. It’ll be Nick Sogard and Abraham Toro at the cold corner for now.

Brown struck out four and walked two on the day, while posting a minuscule 14 percent whiff rate and 15 percent CSW. Brown’s velocity was down across the board, from one mph on his four-seam fastball to nearly two mph on his curve. He also had just eight called strikes in the entire game and only two whiffs on a pitch other than his four-seam fastball. It was an overall poor outing for the 26-year-old, but hopefully just a one-game blip. He’ll take a 2.04 ERA into a home outing against the Athletics next week.
