  • KC Relief Pitcher #33

Twins placed RHP John Gant on the 10-day injured list.
There has been no injury designation given at this time, but the right-hander was recently activated from the injured list with abdominal discomfort so this may be related. Gant surrendered six runs over four innings on Friday night and was unlikely going to make another appearance this season. More details should be available soon.

  • NYM Catcher #4

Mets placed C Franciso Alvarez on the paternity list.
Alvarez, who hit his second homer of the year in his last appearance Sunday, will rejoin the Mets this weekend. In the meantime, Luis Torrens will start behind the plate.
Fantasy expectations for Red Sox's Anthony
Primed to hit in the middle of Boston's lineup, top prospect Roman Anthony appears set to deliver raw power and a selective approach for the Red Sox and fantasy managers moving forward.
  • NYM Catcher #30
Mets recalled C Hayden Senger from Triple-A Syracuse.
Senger will back up Luis Torrens for a few days with Francisco Alvarez absent. He went 5-for-28 while in that role for most of the first month of the season.
  • NYM Center Fielder #20
Mets signed OF Travis Jankowski to a minor league contract.
Jankowski opted for free agency after the Rays cut him earlier this month. He was previously a Met in 2022, when he hit (and slugged) .167 in 63 plate appearances over 43 games. He could see time as a reserve outfielder later this season.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #31
Reds placed LHP Brent Suter on the bereavement list.
Suter should be back this weekend. One of the game’s most underrated relievers, he has a 2.27 ERA in 31 2/3 innings this season.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #66
Reds recalled LHP Joe La Sorsa from Triple-A Louisville.
It’s La Sorsa’s first official callup with the Reds, though he previously pitched an inning for the team as a 27th man. He has a 4.38 ERA over 51 1/3 innings in 42 career major league relief appearances.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #81
White Sox selected the contract of RHP Grant Taylor from Double-A Birmingham.
One of the organization’s top arms, Taylor war moved to the pen in Double-A last month and had since struck out 18 over 9 1/3 scoreless innings. It’s quite possible he’ll immediately emerge as the White Sox’s best reliever, but even if that does happen, it’d be foolish for the team to treat him as a true closer and give him such an inconsistent workload in a lost year. Still, he could pick up the occasional save right away, and he’s well worth keeping an eye on.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #46
White Sox designated RHP Bryse Wilson for assignment.
Instead of getting another chance in the rotation with Jonathan Cannon down, Wilson is being bumped from the White Sox roster here. The veteran was 0-2 with a 6.95 ERA in five starts and 14 relief appearances. He’ll likely clear waivers.
  • SF 3rd Baseman #26
Giants placed 3B Matt Chapman on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 9, with right hand inflammation.
Chapman was hurt jamming his hand into first base while diving back on a pickoff attempt Sunday. It shouldn’t be a long absence, but it could still be a costly one for the Giants, as Chapman has again easily been their best player this year. Casey Schmitt and the newly recalled Christian Koss will fill in at third base.
  • SF Shortstop #50
Giants recalled INF Christian Koss from Triple-A Sacramento.
Koss hit .219//275/.266 in 29 games for the Giants before being sent down earlier this month. He’ll again take on a utility role with Matt Chapman down.
  • DET Left Fielder #60
Tigers sent OF Akil Baddoo outright to Triple-A Toledo.
Baddoo was already back in the minors when the Tigers removed him from the 40-man roster last week. He can choose to become a free agent, but it’s unclear if there are any better options out there for him after he went unclaimed. The 26-year-old Baddoo went 2-for-17 in eight major league games last months. He’s hit .248/.340/.436 in 153 plate appearances for Toledo this season.
