  • MLB Relief Pitcher #95
Aaron Slegers cleared waivers and has elected to become a free agent on Sunday.
The right-hander was designated for assignment on Saturday and went unclaimed on waivers. Slegers posted a 6.97 ERA and 1.87 WHIP across 31 innings this season.

  • FA Third Baseman #2
Charlie Culberson announced his retirement from baseball on Thursday
Culberson spent 11 years in professional baseball and the better part of eight years in MLB with the Dodgers, Braves, the Rangers. Despite playing major league games at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, and RF he had most recently tried to convert to pitching with the Braves but was unable to make it stick. Culberson finishes his career with a batting line of .248/.293/.385, and a 77 wRC+.
  • SEA Center Fielder #10
Victor Robles (hand) has been scratched from the lineup on Thursday.
Robles missed Wednesday’s game after injuring his hand trying to steal home on Tuesday. It seemed that he would only miss one game, but the Mariners will go with Dylan Moore at second base instead with Jorge Polanco sliding to DH.
  • MIA Shortstop #79
Marlins designated INF José Devers for assignment.
The Marlins needed to make room with Derek Hill and Vidal Brujan coming off the IL, so Devers was let go. The 24-year-old is hitting .239/.304/.362 in 54 games at Triple-A with three home runs and three steals. He’s still young, so there’s a chance that another organization will take a shot on him; however, he likely passes through waivers unclaimed.
  • MIA Center Fielder #58
Marlins reinstated OF Derek Hill (shoulder) from the 10-day IL.
Hill was placed on the IL on September 7th with a shoulder injury and has seen Griffin Conine step into a starting stop in his absence. Conine will receive yet another start on Thursday, which could imply that Derek Hill fill a short-side platoon role with either Conine or Jesus Sanchez for the remainder of the season. Jose Devers was designated for assignment to make room for Hill on the 40-man roster.
  • MIA Shortstop #25
Marlins optioned David Hensley to Triple-A Jacksonville.
With Vidal Bruján and Derek Hill coming off the IL, there was no room for Hensley on the active roster. The 28-year-old has hit .212/.293/.288 in 23 games for the Marlins with one home run, one steal, and a 29.3 percent strikeout rate.
  • MIA Second Baseman #17
Marlins reinstated INF Vidal Bruján (shoulder) from the 10-day IL
Bruján will return to the team after being placed on the IL on August 31st with an AC joint sprain; however, with how well Otto Lopez has been playing, Bruján could very well return to a bench role. David Hensley was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
  • LAD Shortstop #11
Miguel Rojas remains out of the lineup for the Dodgers on Thursday.
The 35-year-old was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with a sore hamstring, and it appears that he will get another day off against Miami on Thursday. Tommy Edman will slide to shortstop again, which means Andy Pages will play center field and bat eighth.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández is not in the lineup for the Dodgers on Thursday.
It seems like a routine day off for the 31-year-old. Chris Taylor will start in left field and bat ninth.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #34
Kodai Senga (calf) will pitch one inning for Triple-A Syracuse this weekend with the intent to join the Mets next week.
The Mets have said that Senga could be used out of the bullpen to facilitate a quicker return to the team, so it appears that’s what the 31-year-old is hoping for. “I’ve been working my tail off and devoting all my time toward this,” Senga said through an interpreter. “I need to make this work.” While Senga will have no fantasy value the rest of the season, his return to the Mets, even in a bullpen role, would be a big boost.
  • SEA Center Fielder #10
Victor Robles (hand) is back in the lineup and batting lead-off for the Mariners on Thursday.
Robles missed Wednesday’s game with a hand issue that occurred on a poor baserunning decision where he tried to steal home with the bases loaded and Justin Turner in a 3-0 count. The mistake that cost the Mariners big time in Tuesday’s loss. Regardless, Robles is back in there on Thursday, and he’s been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last month so he needs to be in fantasy lineups as well.
