José Ramírez was pulled from Friday’s game against the Blue Jays after suffering an apparent leg injury.
Ramirez reached base on an infield single in the third inning, but he went into the base awkwardly while attempting to avoid a throw from Blue Jays’ right-hander Chris Bassitt when the injury occurred. He’s heading for further evaluation. Look for the Guardians to provide an update on their superstar third baseman as soon as more information becomes available.

The Marlins announced that Otto Lopez was removed from Friday’s game due to right ankle discomfort.

  • BOS 1st Baseman #36
Triston Casas was removed from Friday night’s contest against the Twins in the second inning after suffering an apparent knee injury while running out an infield hit.
Casas lunged to try and beat out an infield dribbler, and his knee seemed to give out as he touched first base. He went down in a heap and had to be taken off the field on a cart. He’ll head for further evaluation to see exactly what’s going on, but it certainly looked like an injury that would keep him out for an extended period of time. Look for the Red Sox to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #25
Gleyber Torres (hamstring) is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Angels.
Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch noted that Torres was removed from Friday’s game due to minor tightness in his hamstring and that the team had already planned to give him the day off on Friday anyways. He’s tentatively expected to return to the Tigers’ lineup on Saturday.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #6

Mets optioned RHP Ty Adcock to Triple-A Syracuse.
Adcock’s stay with the Mets lasted just one day this time around after giving up a walk and a hit over 1/3 of an inning on Thursday. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once again. Austin Warren was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take his place in the Mets’ bullpen on Friday.

Giants signed OF Daniel Johnson to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old outfielder had been languishing on the free agent market since electing free agency from the Orioles back in October. Johnson hit .259/.320/.448 with 21 homers, 76 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 118 games at Triple-A Norfolk in 2024. He’ll add extra outfield depth for the Giants.

Red Sox recalled RHP Hunter Dobbins from Triple-A Worcester.
The 25-year-old hurler will join the Red Sox to fill the rotation spot vacated by Walker Buehler (shoulder). He’ll start on Saturday against the Twins and if he pitches well he could stick around to make at least one additional start while Buehler is shelved. On the season, Dobbins is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and an 11/2 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in two spot starts for the Red Sox.
