Mets re-signed C David Rodriguez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
It’s the same deal he signed last winter before he spent the season as part of the Mets’ 60-man player pool. Rodriguez, 24, is simply a depth addition.

White Sox released OF Oscar Colas.
Colas is a former top prospect who struggled in his limited chances with the White Sox, and he’s forged a slash of just .116/.224/.209 in Triple-A Charlotte this year. At the age of 26, it’s likely someone will give him a chance as organizational depth, but it seems unlikely that he’ll be anything more than that at this stage of his career.
Top prospect Clarke to be called up by Athletics
Following the Atheltics' announcement that they are calling up prized outfield Denzel Clarke, James Schiano discusses what the toolsy prospect with "blazing speed" will bring to the pro level.

Dodgers optioned RHP Matt Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Sauer will head down to Triple-A to make room for Bobby Miller on the roster. The 26-year-old will assuredly be back with the Dodgers as a multi-inning relief option at some point.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #28
Dodgers recalled RHP Bobby Miller from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Miller is up to give the Dodgers a potential multi-inning option after their 13-inning game against the Mets on Saturday. The Dodgers optioned Matt Sauer to make room for Miller on the roster.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #2
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Alex Bregman is dealing with a significant quad injury.
Bregman hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Cora compared the injury to the one Bregman picked up in 2021 when he missed 58 games. Fantasy managers should prepare for a long wait before the 31-year-old is back in their fantasy lineup.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #11
Rafael Devers delivered a game-winning single in the 10th as the Red Sox edged the Orioles 6-5 in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
The Orioles could have walked Devers and faced Wilyer Abreu after Jarren Duran popped out to open the top of the 10th, but they opted to have lefty Gregory Soto pitch to him. Devers made them pay with a hard grounder that made it way to center field, scoring the automatic runner. It gave Devers his 25th RBI in his last 15 games. He also doubled and walked today.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #73
Hunter Dobbins yielded four runs in four-plus innings and struck out seven in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Orioles.
Dobbins followed up a two-run first with three scoreless frames, but after the fifth began with a double and a single, he was lifted before he could face the top of the order for the third time. Both runners later came around to score off Sean Newcomb. Dobbins has given up 10 runs over 13 2/3 innings in his last three starts. He’ll probably stay in the rotation and face the Braves next weekend, but he could be replaced once Richard Fitts comes off the IL.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #31
Liam Hendricks tossed a perfect sixth inning with the score tied in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Orioles.
Hendricks came up a little lame running to cover first base on the second out of the inning and got a visit from the trainer, but it proved to be a quick one, and he remained in to secure the final out of the inning. Hopefully, it proves to be nothing.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #24
Zach Eflin gave up five runs — four earned — over five innings in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox.
Eflin allowed three homers, all of which were legit; the shortest was 386 feet. He’s now given up seven in his last two starts after allowing just two in his first four. With his groundball and strikeout rates dwindling, he no longer seems like an every-week play in mixed leagues. Still, he should be used at home against the White Sox next week.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #74
Félix Bautista worked a perfect ninth with the score 5-5 in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox.
It was a little surprising to see Baltimore go to its closer in a tie game with the bottom third of the lineup due up, but the team was probably thinking that even with a potential lead in the 10th, it might have made more sense to have a lefty face the Alex Bregman-less top of the Red Sox lineup, which featured Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers and Wilyer Abreu. Bautista went on to retire the side in order, but the lefty-lefty matchups didn’t go the Orioles’ way in the 10th. Bautista now figures to be down for the nightcap, which might put Andrew Kittredge or Yannier Cano (who struck out two in a perfect eighth today) in line for a save.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #6
Ryan Mountcastle went 0-for-4 against the Red Sox in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Mountcastle has fared considerably better in his last 20 games (.265/.281/.369) than in his first 28 games (.191/.240/.270), but it’s still not the kind of production a team wants from a first baseman/designated hitter. He does have options remaining, and Samuel Bassallo seems ready to contribute if the Orioles are fine with him not catching often. Coby Mayo would also be an option, but he’s really struggled in Triple-A since being sent down earlier this month.
