Marlins designated INF/OF Sean Rodriguez for assignment.
Rodriguez played just four games for the Marlins, going 2-for-13 at the plate. He’s clearing out to make room for the return of Jon Berti from the injured list.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Braves plan to promote veteran right-hander Craig Kimbrel from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
That comes after the Braves’ bullpen imploded and squandered a six-run lead in the ninth inning against the Diamondbacks on Thursday afternoon. Kimbrel, who had 440 big league saves to his name, has registered a 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and a 23/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings in the minor leagues this season. He’ll give manager Brian Snitker another option to deploy in the late innings. Kimbrel hasn’t appeared in a big league game with the Braves since the end of the 2014 season.
'Hold on' to Braves' Harris II in fantasy leagues
Despite Michael Harris II's disappointing numbers thus far, Eric Samulski highlights why fantasy managers should still find a roster spot for the Braves' outfielder.
  • CLE 1st Baseman #9
Kyle Manzardo is absent from the Guardians’ starting lineup for Thrusday night’s showdown against the Yankees.
With David Fry back in the fold, he’s the one starting as the designated hitter against left-hander Max Fried on Thursday evening, which leaves only one spot for Manzardo and Carlos Santana. It’s Santana starting at first base and batting fifth for the Guardians with Manzardo getting a night off. On the season, he’s slashing a meager .211/.300/.443 with 11 homers and 29 RBI.
  • PIT 1st Baseman #2
Spencer Horwitz is not in the Pirates’ starting lineup for Thursday’s battle against the Astros.
The 27-year-old first baseman will get a rare day off with left-hander Framber Valdez toeing the slab for the Astros. Horwitz is off to a slow start since returning from the injured list, slashing just .230/.299/.328 with one homer, five RBI and a 15/6 K/BB ratio across 67 plate appearances. Jared Triolo will start in his place at first base and will bat eighth for the Pirates on Thursday evening in Pittsburgh.
  • CHC Left Fielder #30
Kyle Tucker (finger) is hitting second and playing right field against the Nationals on Thursday.
Tucker was able to appear Wednesday as a pinch-hitter, but now the star outfielder is feeling well enough to be in the lineup from the jump for the series finale against the Nationals. He’s been excellent in his first year in Chicago with 12 homers, 16 stolen bases and a .912 OPS.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #55
    Padres non-tendered LHP Jay Groome.
You don’t see players being non-tendered in June very often, but this is a special case. Groome was suspended for one year last summer for betting on games, and since the southpaw is out of options, the Padres will instead non-tender him; making him a free agent. Groome has quality stuff, so it won’t be a huge surprise if he finds a new club relatively soon.
  • ARI 2nd Baseman #4
Ketel Marte homered, scored three runs and drove in a pair in a win over Atlanta on Thursday.
Marte also singled and walked. The infielder clobbered his 11th homer of the season in the eighth inning off Scott Blewett, and it’s worth pointing out that total is even more impressive when you consider he has only played in 36 games. Marte remains one of the best infielders in the sport, and doesn’t get nearly enough plaudits for his success.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a solo homer and scored twice in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Acuña also drew a walk and came around to score on a single by Austin Riley in the third. The homer was already the fourth of the season for the former MVP; an impressive total when considering he’s played in just 12 games in 2025. There are very few players who match Acuña’s talent level, and it’s outstanding to see him already producing at this type of level after missing so much time with his torn ACL.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez hit a two-run double in the ninth inning to give the Diamondbacks an 11-10 win over Atlanta on Thursday.
Suárez, 33, was able to complete the largest ninth-inning comeback in Diamondbacks history with a two-run double off Raisel Iglesias. The 33-year-old has driven in 46 runs already in 2025 with a very solid OPS of .815 over the first 62 games of 2025.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #18
Shelby Miller picked up a save with a scoreless ninth against Atlanta on Thursday.
Miller worked against his former organization — he was traded from Arizona to Atlanta, in face — and got the job done again. He did issue a walk, but he kept the runner from advancing while procuring his sixth save and lowering his ERA to 1.75. Miller had very little closing experience prior to 2025, but that hasn’t prevented him from being successful in the role whatsoever this spring.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #26
Raisel Iglesias blew a save and took a loss against the Diamondbacks on Thursday while allowing three runs.
The Diamondbacks trailed 10-5 heading into the ninth inning, but were able to complete the greatest ninth inning comeback in the (relatively short) history of the franchise. Iglesias was “only” responsible for three of those runs, but it was another ineffective outing; one that sees his ERA bump up to 6.75 on the season. It still seems likely that the 35-year-old will remain the stopper for Atlanta, but considering how poorly the team has played and how many blow-ups he’s had early on, there are certainly better options that fantasy managers need to explore, if they haven’t already.
