  • MIA Third Base Coach #13

Marlins activated INF/OF Sean Rodriguez from the 10-day injured list.
Rodriguez has been absent since the Marlins’ COVID-19 outbreak at the end of July. He’ll return in a utility role for the stretch run.

  • BAL Catcher #35

Adley Rutschman (head) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.
The positive news here for the Orioles and fantasy managers is that Rutschman hasn’t landed on the concussion injured list. The 27-year-old franchise cornerstone is undergoing further evaluation after taking a foul ball off his catcher’s mask during Sunday’s game against the Red Sox. There should be some clarity on his status soon. It’ll be Chadwick Tromp handling the catching workload on Tuesday night in his absence.
Fantasy ripple effects from King's shoulder injury
With Padres' ace Michael King headed to the 15-day injured list, Eric Samulski assesses potential fill-in options for San Diego and fantasy managers alike.
  • BAL Center Fielder #31
Cedric Mullins remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals.
It’s notable that Mullins is sitting for the third time in the last four games for the Orioles, this time with Jorge Mateo taking over in center field against another right-handed starter. The 30-year-old is hitting just .226/.320/.446 with 10 homers and seven steals through 49 games. He typically gets a break against tougher left-handers so it’s concerning that Baltimore is keeping him on the bench against right-handers the past couple games in favor of Mateo and Dylan Carlson.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #38
Rockies activated RHP Victor Vodnik from the 15-day injured list.
Vodnik rejoins Colorado’s bullpen prior to Tuesday’s contest against the Cubs at Wrigley Field after missing five weeks with shoulder inflammation. The 25-year-old righty holds a respectable 4.50 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 8/6 K/BB ratio across eight innings (nine appearances).
  • PHI Catcher #10
J.T. Realmuto has been dropped to eighth in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against Atlanta.
It’s the lowest that Realmuto has batted this season. The 34-year-old veteran backstop been struggling in recent weeks, hitting .227/.292/.387 with four homers and 14 RBI over his last 30 games. He’s not in danger of losing playing time, but he’s barely hanging on to fantasy relevance at the catcher position, especially with a wave of talented youngsters just starting to reach the majors.
  • CWS Catcher #26
White Sox activated C Korey Lee from the 10-day injured list.
Lee returns to fortify Chicago’s catching mix after missing nearly seven weeks recovering from a left ankle sprain that sent him to the shelf back in early April. The 26-year-old backstop will split playing time with top prospect Edgar Quero moving forward.
  • TB Right Fielder #21
Rays transferred OF Jonny DeLuca to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move frees up a spot on Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster for catcher Matt Thaiss. It also pushed DeLuca’s return back until at least June 6, which is the earliest he can be activated from the injured list. The 26-year-old outfielder will continue his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham for the next few days before returning in early June.
  • TB Catcher #29
Rays acquired C Matt Thaiss from the White Sox for OF Dru Baker.
Thaiss’ playing time evaporated once catching prospect Edgar Quero reached the big leagues and there simply isn’t a spot for him with Korey Lee close to returning from the injured list. He’ll head to Tampa Bay in a reserve role behind starter Danny Jansen.
  • CWS Left Fielder
White Sox acquired OF Dru Baker from the Rays for C Matt Thaiss.
Baker was a fourth-round selection in the 2021 MLB Draft and has hit .245/.344/.302 with one homer and one steals in 17 games this season for Triple-A Durham. The 25-year-old outfielder put up solid numbers last year at Double-A Montgomery with 42 steals in 110 games. He projects as a reserve outfielder at the highest level.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #7
Brett Baty is at second base and batting fifth on Tuesday against the White Sox.
It’s the highest Baty has slotted into New York’s lineup since being recalled from Triple-A Syracuse back on May 5. The 25-year-old former top prospect has provided a serious spark, hitting .280 (14-for-50) with five homers, 13 RBI and one steal in 17 games during that span. His multi-position eligibility is an extra bonus for fantasy managers as well. He’s deserving of a roster spot in deeper mixed leagues, especially formats that utilize middle and corner infield spots.
  • BAL Shortstop #54
Orioles sent INF/OF Terrin Vavra outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
As expected, Vavra went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 28-year-old was up for only one day with Baltimore and didn’t get into a game. He’s merely emergency organizational depth at this stage of his career.
