Marlins transferred C Francisco Cervelli from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Cervelli is done for the remainder of the 2020 regular season due to lingering concussion symptoms.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Justin Slaten (shoulder) has resumed playing catch.
Slaten was pulled off his throwing program a week ago to help rebuild strength, and now is feeling well enough to return to his rehab program. Slaten could be an option for the Red Sox for the final month-plus of 2025.
Alvarez looking 'more like himself' in Triple-A
Francisco Alvarez has found his bat in Triple-A after a "shocking," yet deserved demotion, and James Schiano details how the Mets catcher is looking "more like himself" after significant regression.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #37
Phillies recalled OF Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Wilson is up with Alec Bohm (rib) placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Wilson could see some playing time at third and in the outfield against left-handed pitching.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Phillies placed INF Alec Bohm on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left rib.
Bohm aggravated his left rib cage injury during Friday’s game against the Angels, and the fracture will cause him to miss at least a week; likely longer. The Phillies recalled Weston Wilson to take Bohm’s place on the roster, but Edmundo Sosa and Otto Kemp will likely see the majority of playing time at third with Bohm unvailable.
  • LAD Right Fielder #50
Mookie Betts is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Brewers.
Betts will get a breather for the middle game of a three-game set against Milwaukee. Miguel Rojas will get the start at shortstop and hit ninth in Betts’ absence.
  • DET Shortstop #28
Javier Báez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rangers.
Báez will get a break after going 0-for-2 with a walk during Friday’s contest. The 32-year-old will give way to Trey Sweeney and be available off the bench.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #89
Red Sox returned RHP Tanner Houck from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester.
It does not appear that the return has anything to do with an activation for Houck. The right-hander has been out of action since the middle of May because of his right flexor pronator strain, and there’s no timetable for when he’ll be able to rejoin the Boston pitching staff.
  • NYY Center Fielder #24
Jasson Dominguez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s bout against Atlanta.
Dominguez is the odd man out against Atlanta with Cody Bellinger in left, Aaron Judge in right and Trent Grisham getting the start in center.
  • ATH Catcher #64
Athletics designated C Jhonny Pereda for assignment.
The move clears room on the 40-man roster, and the Athletics activated Ken Waldichuk (elbow) off the 60-day injured list with that room before optioning Waldichuk to Triple-A Las Vegas. Pereda could see interest on the waiver wire from teams who need some depth behind the plate.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #30
Athletics activated LHP Ken Waldichuk off the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.
  • CHC 1st Baseman #29
Michael Busch is leading off again on Saturday against the Red Sox.
Busch has been bumped up to the leadoff spot in Chicago’s lineup for the third consecutive game with Ian Happ continuing to bat in the middle of the order. The 27-year-old first baseman has put together an outstanding season so far, hitting .287/.374/.545 with 19 homers, 59 RBI and four steals through 91 games. He may lose out on some run-producing opportunities as the Cubs’ table-setter, but that should be offset by an uptick in the runs scored department.
