The move was initially reported back in May but just became official on Sunday as the Mariners finalized their player pool for the upcoming 60-game 2020 season. Gonzalez signed a minor league contract with Seattle in February after batting just .200/.289/.283 with three homers and 10 RBI over 166 plate appearances between the Cubs and Indians in 2019. He is again a free agent.

Ramírez fell behind in the count 1-2 before lacing a fastball into right field for an RBI triple that gave the Guardians an early 1-0 lead. He then scored on an infield single off the bat of Carlos Santana. Ramírez also walked in the third inning and swiped second base, but the Guardians were unable to cash him in. The 32-year-old superstar finished the day 1-for-4 and is now hitting .306/.365/.522 with nine homers, 25 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season.

Kwan led off the game with a double off of Jackson Jobe, then raced around to score on an RBI triple off the bat of José Ramírez. He also singled off of Tyler Holton with two outs in the seventh inning but was left stranded there. Kwan then put the icing on the cake with an RBI single off of Chase Lee in the ninth. With his three-hit attack, the smooth-swinging 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .322/.378/.442 with four homers, 18 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Clase made it look easy in this one, getting Trey Sweeney on a swinging third strike, Justyn-Henry Malloy on a foul out to first base and Matt Vierling on a fly ball to right field to end it. He needed just 12 pitches (eight strikes) to get the job done. After seeing a dip in his velocity his last time out, things were back to normal on Friday, with his cutter averaging 99.3 mph and touching as high as 100.4 mph. Clase now sports a 4.29 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and a 22/5 K/BB ratio over 20 2/3 innings on the season to go along with four victories and nine saves.

The 25-year-old right-hander scattered five hits and two walks on the evening. The only blemish on his night came on a solo blast off the bat of Spencer Torkelson in the sixth inning. Cecconi generated 14 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the evening — six on his curveball — while posting an elite CSW of 36 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 14/2 K/BB ratio (11 innings) into Wednesday’s tough matchup against the Dodgers.

Torkelson finally got the Tigers on the board in the sixth inning of this one, blasting a 405-foot (108.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Slade Cecconi that pulled the Tigers to within a run at 2-1. He struck out in each of his other four at-bats in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-4. On the season, the 25-year-old slugger is now hitting .244/.353/.533 with 13 long balls and 40 RBI.

The 22-year-old right-hander walked two and struck out three on the evening. All of the damage done against him came in the opening inning as Jose Ramirez smacked an RBI triple and scored on an infield single off the bat of Carlos Santana. Jobe settled in nicely afterwards though and finished his day with four scoreless frames to keep his team in it. He got 11 whiffs on 89 pitches on the night — seven of those on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. It’s the first time in 10 career starts that the Tigers have lost a game in which Jobe started. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he totes a 4.06 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and a 35/24 K/BB ratio (44 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Giants.

Gore had been hit by a comebacker in his leg earlier in the game. Martinez noted that the team wasn’t overly concerned about the injury, and it sounds like the 26-year-old southpaw should be good to make his next start. Fantasy managers should monitor his status over the next couple of days just to make sure that he gets through his side work without issue, but it sounds like there’s nothing to worry about here.

Roupp’s curve his most used pitch this season, but facing a Nationals lineup composed entirely of lefties and switch-hitters, he leaned more into the changeup tonight. He wound up getting just two strikeouts and four whiffs, but he induced a bunch of groundouts while pitching scoreless ball for the second straight outing. He should be rostered in mixed leagues at this point. He’ll probably get the Tigers in Detroit next time out.

Ruiz hit seventh on Opening Day and went 2-for-4 with a homer. He his seventh in game two of the season and went 2-for-4 with a homer. He’s typically hit third or fourth ever since then, yet he has now gone 174 plate appearances without another homer. He’s still hitting for a respectable .264 average during that span, but since it comes with no power and his typical abysmal walk rate, he’s been quite the liability in the middle of the Nationals order. Hitting him seventh was always the right idea.

Gore was engaged in a brilliant pitcher’s duel with Giants’ right-hander Landen Roupp, pitching in a scoreless game in the seventh inning when he grimaced after delivering a pitch. After a visit from his manager and the training staff, the decision was made to pull him from the game. Hopefully it’s something minor like cramping and won’t be an issue going forward. Expect the Nationals to provide an update on his status shortly.
