    Rockies released INF/OF Kelby Tomlinson.
Tomlinson was signed to a minor league contract without an invite to spring training in January after spending last year in the Diamondbacks and Mariners’ organization. He hit just .247 in his time with those clubs -- all in Triple-A -- and with no minor-league season (likely) coming, he doesn’t really fit as organizational depth.

Isaac Collins homered and stole a base in a win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
Alvarez looking 'more like himself' in Triple-A
Francisco Alvarez has found his bat in Triple-A after a "shocking," yet deserved demotion, and James Schiano details how the Mets catcher is looking "more like himself" after significant regression.
  • MIN 1st Baseman #18
Kody Clemens went 2-for-4 with a triple and drove in three runs in a loss Saturday to the Rockies.
Clemens drove in his first run with the triple and then doubled home a pair in the eighth. The 29-year-old veteran has done a nice job for Minnesota with an .820 OPS and 29 RBI over 56 games. It sure would be nice if that OPS came with a little higher batting average than a .201 mark, however.
  • COL Catcher #15
Hunter Goodman went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to help the Rockies to a win Saturday over the Twins.
Goodman swatted a two-run blast for his 18th homer of the season. The 25-year-old All-Star has been one of the very few bright spots for a team that needed to win Saturday night to get to 50 games under .500. He also singled twice to improve his slash to a very strong .282/.329/.528.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar hit a three-run homer while going 3-for-4 in a 10-6 win for the Rockies on Saturday over the Twins.
Tovar broke a 3-3 tie by clobbering a Zebby Matthews pitch in the fifth inning with a pair of runners on. The 23-year-old shortstop has just four homers on the year, but it’s obviously worth noting how that has pretty much everything to do with how much time he missed with injury. When healthy, Tovar looks like a future fantasy star.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #49
Antonio Senzatela allowed three runs over seven innings to get a win over the Twins on Saturday.
It’s the first time in 2025 that Senzatela has recorded an out past the seventh inning. He still has an obscene 6.41 ERA on the season and this win “improved” his record to 4-13 on the season, but hey, this wasn’t all that bad. It’s a poor idea to trust him going forward to put up similar numbers, including a scheduled start Friday against the Orioles.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #52
Zebby Matthews disappointed with four innings of five-run baseball in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.
Four innings of five-run baseball isn’t ideal against anyone. Against the Rockies, it’s disappointing; especially for those who took a chance on him as a streamer based on, well, you know. Matthews did strike out six, but the command wasn’t good enough as seen in eight hits allowed; including a three-run homer. Matthews still has long-term upside, but he’s tough to trust in redraft leagues.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #8
Brandon Lowe was removed from Saturday’s game against the Orioles with plantar fasciitis.
Lowe has dealt with plantar fasciitis in the past, the foot issue “flared up” according to Rays manager Kevin Cash. Cash also noted that Lowe was going to be off Sunday anyway, and that the 31-year-old would be available off the bench.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller threw a live bullpen session before Saturday’s game against the Astros.
Miller touches 97 mph with his fastball in the session, and he also threw his secondary pitches as well. The next steps forward for the 26-year-old will likely be determined by how he feels in the coming days, but a rehab assignment might be in the cards soon, with a chance for Miller to return to the majors in the middle of August.
  • HOU 3rd Baseman #15
Isaac Paredes left Saturday’s game against the Mariners with right hamstring discomfort.
Paredes looked to be in a good deal of pain while laboring to first base on what assuredly would have been a double if not for the injury. The 26-year-old will almost assuredly get Sunday off, but his status for the coming days — potentially longer — will likely be determined by the results of testing/imaging.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez collected his 32nd and 33rd homers Saturday as the Diamondbacks crushed the Cardinals 10-1.
Suárez hit balls 390 and 403 feet off Sonny Gray to surpass his homer totals from the 2021 and 2022 seasons tonight. He’s one away from his second highest total of 34 from 2018, but he still has a long way ago to reach the mark of 49 he achieved in 2019.
