  • MLB Outfield #27

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Mariners are releasing Carlos Gonzalez.
This is not a surprise, as Gonzalez was a longshot to make the roster despite the Mariners lacking in quality outfield depth. The 34-year-old outfield was signed by Seattle to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, and hit .237 with a .659 OPS in the Cactus League before the COVID-19 shutdown. Gonzalez will be free to link on with another club, but it’s unlikely there will be much interest.

JP Sears was able to get a win despite allowing four runs in five innings against the Orioles on Friday.
Fantasy impact of Mets SS Lindor breaking his toe
James Schiano shares the latest news regarding star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is day-to-day after breaking his toe, also explaining how the injury will affect Luisangel Acuña, Ronny Mauricio and fantasy managers.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs in the Orioles’ 5-4 win over the Athletics on Friday.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman #7
Jackson Holliday went 3-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Julio Rodríguez hit an RBI triple and stole a base in a loss to the Angels on Friday.
Rodríguez went a full week between extra-base hits, but he laced a triple off the center-field wall to give the Mariners a 4-3 lead. He also singled and was able to pick up his 10th stolen base of the season. On top of that, he was able to rob a homer on one of the better catches of 2025. Rodríguez should heat up this summer and improve his .248/.316/.416 slash over the final 100 games.
  • LAA Catcher #25
Travis d’Arnaud hit a two-run homer to help the Angels to a 5-4 win over the Mariners on Friday.
With the Angels trailing 3-1, d’Arnaud smoked a two-run homer into the left-field bleachers off Bryce Miller to tie things up. The 36-year-old veteran backstop has homered just twice with six RBI in 2025, but that’s over a relatively small sample of 90 at-bats. It seems likely d’Arnaud will be in the lineup more often than not going forward, and that makes him worth consideration if only because of his positional eligibility.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #74
Kenley Jansen worked a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Friday against the Mariners.
Jansen made quick work of the bottom of the Seattle lineup, and he needed just eight pitches — all eight for strikes — to pick up his 13th save of the season. The 37-year-old is not the same pitcher he was when he was as dominant as anyone with the Dodgers, but he’s far from done as a closer based on what he’s shown over the first two-plus months this year.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller gave up five runs in five innings while being credited with the loss against the Angels on Friday.
There may not be a pitcher who has been more disappointing in 2025 than Miller, even when you consider the injury that sidelined him for two-plus weeks. He gave up just one run over the first three innings, but after that the 26-year-old struggled again; allowing a two-run homer to Travis d’Arnaud in the fourth and a two more to come across the plate in the fifth. Miller now has an ERA of 5.73 which is close to double his 2.94 mark in 2024. He’s now a very risky streamer against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #28
Kyle Hendricks allowed four runs over six innings while picking up a win against the Mariners on Friday.
Hendricks walked two and struck out two. He narrowly avoided giving up a grand slam in the third to Rowdy Tellez, but that sac fly and a fielder’s choice from Leody Taveras gave the Mariners a 3-1 cushion. He also allowed an RBI triple to Julio Rodríguez in the fourth and a run-scoring single by J.P. Crawford in the first. Hendricks was in consistent trouble, and the Seattle offense let him off the hook, to quote a certain former NFL coach. He’ll take an ugly 5.40 ERA into a scheduled start against the Athletics next week.
  • NYM Shortstop #12
Francisco Lindor went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit, two-run double to beat the Rockies 4-2 on Friday.
This guy can really do it all. After being held out of the lineup for the last two games with a fractured pinky toe, manager Carlos Mendoza called on him with two on and two out in the eighth inning for the most important at-bat of the game. Lindor answered the call by smoking a double down the line to bring both Juan Soto and Pete Alonso home and give the Mets a late lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. Usually a slow starter, Lindor already has 14 home runs, 11 stolen bases, and an .852 OPS this season. He should be well on his way to an All-Star campaign if this broken toe doesn’t hold him out much longer.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #39
Edwin Díaz struck out one batter in a clean ninth inning to earn the save on Friday against the Rockies.
Coming off his first blown save of the season last time out against the Dodgers, Díaz slammed the door shut on the Rockies here. He’s now allowed just one earned run across 14 1/3 innings since the beginning of May and has been one of the most dominant relief pitchers in baseball after a shaky stretch to begin the season.
