Gorkys Hernandez told Daniel Parra of SportsVenezuela.com that he’s signed a minor league deal with the White Sox.
It sounds like he’ll head to major league camp, but the White Sox just provide confirmation soon. Hernandez, 32, batted .143/.218/.245 with a 14/5 K/BB ratio in 57 plate appearances for the Red Sox last season. He’s organizational depth at this point.

White Sox sent RHP Yoendrys Gomez outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Gomez was unclaimed after being designated for assignment by the White Sox on Tuesday. The right-hander will hang around the Chicago organization, and he’ll need to be added back to the 40-man roster in order to pitch in the majors again.
Williams has 'taken off' for Guardians
Eric Samulski breaks down Gavin Williams' recent stretch of strong starts, explaining why the Cleveland Guardians pitcher needs to be picked up in all fantasy baseball leagues.
  • KC Right Fielder #16
Royals designated OF Hunter Renfroe for assignment.
Renfroe’s contract calls for him to make $7.5 million in 2025, and even with that figure now prorated, it’d be a surprise if anyone had interest in claiming him. The 33-year-old was awful in 2025 with a 182/.241/.242 slash over 108 plate appearances. He’ll likely become a free agent, and someone should have interest in him as a reclamation project.
  • KC Shortstop #12
Royals recalled INF Nick Loftin from Triple-A Omaha.
Loftin has been excellent in Triple-A with a slash of .295/.451/.468. The former first-round pick will head to Kansas City as a utility player, but could see a decent amount of playing time for the playoff-contending Royals. Hunter Renfroe was designated for assignment as the corresponding move.
  • ATL Shortstop #11
Braves designated INF Orlando Arcia for assignment
Arcia opened the 2025 campaign as Atlanta’s starting shortstop, but the 30-year-old was usurped by Nick Allen and was hitting just .218/.271/.354 before being removed from the roster. It’s very likely that Arcia sees interest on the waiver wire via either claim or trade, but he’ll be hard to trust as a fantasy option with whatever organization he lands with.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Braves activated OF Ronald Acuña Jr. off the 10-day injured list.
Acuña is set to make his 2025 debut after missing the first two months — and three-quarters of 2024 — with a torn ACL. The 27-year-old hit 417/.632/.833 over his five games with Gwinnett. There may be some ups-and-downs for Acuña in his first MLB action in well over a year, but he’s absolutely someone who must be activated by fantasy managers. There are few players in baseball who match his upside.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Twins activated SS Carlos Correa from the seven-day injured list.
Ryan Fitzgerald was sent down Thursday to open up a spot. Correa should be back at shortstop tonight after missing a week with a concussion. It’ll probably mean more outfield time for Willi Castro and fewer starts for DeShawn Keirsey Jr.
  • WSH Left Fielder #30
Nationals placed OF Jacob Young on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 20, with a left shoulder AC sprain.
Young was injured in a collision with the wall on Saturday. He thought he’d be ready to return Tuesday, but swinging a bat remained a problem. Daylen Lile will take his place on the roster for at least the next week, and the Nationals will have Lile, Robert Hassell III and Alex Call occupy two outfield spots for now.
  • WSH Left Fielder #51
Nationals selected the contract of OF Daylen Lile from Triple-A Rochester.
Lile was more deserving than Robert Hassell III of being called up as Dylan Crews’ replacement, but he wasn’t on the 40-man roster, and the problem is fixed now anyway, what with Jacob Young (shoulder) joining Crews on the IL. Lile, 22, was hitting .319/.340/.505 in 21 games since moving up to Triple-A. Including his time in Double-A, he was at .337/.383/.509 with nine steals and just a 13% strikeout rate in 176 plate appearances overall. He should play regularly until Young returns (assuming that Young beats Crews back), at which point the Nationals will likely again pick between him and Hassell for one spot.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #39
Royals acquired INF Diego A. Castillo from the Mets.
No word on what the Mets got back, but it was probably just a cash deal. Castillo appeared in 96 games with the Pirates as a rookie in 2022, but he’s had a very difficult time earning chances since. He was hitting .167/.217/.262 in 13 games for Triple-A Syracuse this season, and the Royals will keep him in Triple-A with Omaha.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #28
Trevor Rogers will be the 27th man for the Orioles in Game 2 of Friday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox.
If he pitches, it’d be his season debut. Rogers missed the first four weeks of the season with a knee injury, and he’s since gone 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA in five minor league starts
