    Ronald Acuña Jr. went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Atlanta’s 7-1 win over the Padres on Saturday.
    Two games, two homers for Acuña in his return. He took Alek Jacob deep for a two-run blast in the sixth inning, a 111 mph scorcher to left center field. It’s always nice when the best players are on the field, and the 27-year-old outfielder is out to remind us that’s exactly what he is.

    Matt Olson went 1-for-5 with a solo homer against the Padres on Saturday.
    Olson took Sean Reynolds deep for a solo homer in the third inning for his only hit of the game. It was Olson’s five home run in the last eight days. The 31-year-old slugger is up to 12 on the season while hitting .243/.347/.481 with 30 runs scored and 29 RBI across 222 plate appearances.

    Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two walks against the Braves on Saturday.
    Machado was the bright spot in the San Diego lineup in Saturday’s 7-1 loss to the Braves. He singled in the first inning, then drove in the team’s only run with a base hit in the third. Machado would reach two more times via walk, ending his day hitting .317/.388/.464 with four homers, 34 runs scored, 22 RBI, and seven steals across 206 plate appearances.

    Grant Holmes allowed one run with six strikeouts over seven innings in a win over the Padres on Saturday.
    Holmes recorded his third strain quality start with seven innings of one-run ball against the Padres on Saturday. He gave up a the one run in the third inning on a hit batter and a base hit. He scattered five more hits and walked one batter while striking out six on 12 swinging strikes. The 29-year-old right-hander now holds a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 55/26 K/BB ratio across 58 2/3 innings. Holmes lines up for a start against the Red Sox in Atlanta on Friday.

    Sean Reynolds allowed three runs with one strikeout over 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the Braves on Saturday.
    Reynolds got the start on Saturday against the Braves after Micheal King was scratched with a shoulder issue. He gave up a run on a hit batter and a base hit in the second, then surrendered a solo homer to Matt Olson in the third. Austin Riley followed with a double, knocking Reynolds from the game at 57 pitches. Reynolds will likely revert to a long relief role regardless of King’s status, with Stephen Kolek in line to join the rotation should King require a stint on the injured list.

    Spencer Horwitz went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI in the Pirates’ 2-1 win over the Brewers on Saturday.
    Horwitz had his third multi-hit game in seven starts since returning from the injured list. He put the Pirates on the board early with a double in the first inning to drive in Bryan Reynolds and later added a second double. The 27-year-old infielder is 7-for-27 with one homer and three RBI through his first week back.

    Caleb Durbin went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI against the Pirates on Saturday.
    Durbin reached in every plate appearance against the Pirates on Saturday. He drove in the team’s only run of the game with a base hit in the second inning. Durbin added two more hits and was hit by a pitch to lead off the ninth. The 25-year-old third baseman has mostly struggled this season, slashing .210/.294/.286 with one homer, 16 RBI, and four steals across 121 plate appearances.

    David Bednar worked a scoreless ninth inning to record the save against the Brewers on Saturday.
    Bednar got the call to close out the game in the ninth following Dennis Santana, who pitched the eighth. Protecting a one-run lead, Bednar worked around a hit batter and a base hit to record his fifth save of the season, matching Santana’s five as the two alternate save chances.

    Mitch Keller allowed one run with seven strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Saturday.
    Keller had a great day on the mound, holding the Brewers to one run on a pair of base hits in the second inning. He’d toss four more frames, scattering seven hits in all with zero walks while striking out seven batters. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.66 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 55/17 K/BB ratio across 64 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Friday.

    Quinn Priester allowed one run with seven strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday.
    The Pirates brought a run in on Priester in the first inning with a base hit and a double. He settled in nicely, keeping Pittsburgh off the board for five more innings while collecting seven strikeouts. The 24-year-old right-hander will take a 4.23 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and a 32/23 K/BB ratio across 44 2/3 innings into a road start against the Phillies on Friday.
