White Sox recalled OF Jason Coats from Triple-A Charlotte.
He’ll replace the injured Avisail Garcia (knee) on the active roster. Coats is batting 091/.286/.136 in 29 plate appearances at the major league level this season. He can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.

Oneil Cruz homered and stole base to help the Pirates to a 3-0 win over the Angels on Wednesday.
A combo meal for Cruz, and it brings his season total to 11 thefts and six roundtrippers. The 26-year-old also singled to bump his slash to .247/.355/.519. Cruz plays for a very bad baseball team, but he’s much more than the best of a bad situation. His power/speed combo competes with the best of them.
Cubs CF Crow-Armstrong has 'true star potential'
James Schiano discusses the breakout of Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, explaining how the 23-year-old Los Angeles native has been able to turn his game around this season after struggling to start his career.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #60
Dennis Santana pitched a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Angels on Wednesday.
Santana gave up a hit, but was easily able to hold a three-run lead while picking up his third save of the season. Even with David Bednar back from the minors, it seems like Santana has good chance of seeing save chances. Just keep in mind Bednar is there, and the Pirates aren’t exactly going to be among the win leaders in the National League, either.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #41
Jack Kochanowicz went six innings while allowing two runs in a loss to the Pirates on Wednesday.
Kochanowicz was able to hold the Angels to just the pair of runs despite allowing eight hits, and he walked one with three punchouts. It wasn’t always pretty — few of his starts are because Kochanowicz misses so few bats — but it’s the third time in five starts he’s given up two runs. He’ll get a chance to limit the damage again in T-Mobile Park against the Mariners in Seattle.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #45
Andrew Heaney held the Angels to one hit over six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a win Wednesday.
Heaney took a no-no into the sixth, but it was broken up by Travis d’Arnaud with a double. He was able to keep d’Arnaud from going any further in yet another impressive outing for the 33-year-old southpaw. Heaney now has a glistening 1.72 ERA with a 31/6 K/BB, and while it’s not even kind of sustainable, there’s no denying he’s looked the part over the first three-plus weeks. His next outing is schedule for Tuesday against the Cubs.
  • MIN 2nd Baseman #15
Luke Keaschall went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two stolen bases in a 6-3 win over the White Sox on Wednesday
Keaschall has been a machine through the first few games of his career. He’s reached base safely in half of his plate appearances so far and has hit three doubles in five games. With his hot start, the Twins have moved him to the third spot in their order. He’s hit there in consecutive games, both against right-handed pitchers. Also, and possibly most importantly for his fantasy value, he’s been a maniac on the base paths. Of the nine times he’s reached first base since being promoted, he’s stolen second five of those times. It makes sense that the Twins would move him up in the order as they aggressively search for a spark and he’ll have every chance to produce while he’s playing like this.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #54
Danny Coulombe worked a clean inning with one strikeout to earn the save against the White Sox.
Coulombe was called on for the save after it took Jhoan Duran 32 pitches to close out the White in the Twins’ previous game. It was likely Coulombe instead of presumed set-up man Griffin Jax because Jax pitched the seventh inning against the top of Chicago’s lineup whereas Coulombe worked a clean inning against the bottom of it.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #58
David Festa allowed four hits and two runs with three walks and five strikeouts across four-plus innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.
Again it wasn’t easy for Festa, not even against the White Sox. He didn’t have a single clean inning and consistently struggled to put hitters away until he finally hit a wall in the fifth and was pulled. It’s been the exact same story in all three of his starts this season, not making it through the fifth inning. While it’s usually his out-pitch, he wasn’t able to command his slider here and the White Sox hitters routinely laid off it. His stuff is objectively good, but his repertoire isn’t deep enough for one pitch to not be working and he has little fantasy value if he can’t find a way to complete five innings and qualify for a win at some point. His next is scheduled to come against the Guardians which should be the start of a two-start week where he’ll also face the Red Sox.
  • CWS Catcher #7
Edgar Quero went 0-for-2 with two walks and a RBI on Wednesday against the Twins.
Quero has been a bright spot for the otherwise hapless White Sox of late. His run-scoring fielder’s choice briefly gave them the lead after an eventful fifth inning before their bullpen gave it right back. Otherwise, he showed his excellent eye at the plate, drawing two walks. He was an on-base machine through the minors and has taken that skill with him to the big leagues during the first week of his career with two walks, two strikeouts, and a .417 OBP through seven games.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #46
Bryse Wilson allowed five hits and one run with three walks and one strikeout across 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Wednesday.
Making his first start of the season, Wilson was expectedly unimpressive here. He forced just three swings-and-misses in total and exhibited poor command while allowing 10 base runners in fewer than three innings of work. He is not a viable option in any league format.
  • TB Center Fielder #28
Jake Mangum was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with left groin tightness.
Mangum went 0-for-2 at the dish before being lifted from the contest in the fourth inning following a ground out. He’ll continue to undergo further evaluation and there should be an update on his status prior to Thursday’s series finale out in Arizona.
