  • HOU Catcher #17
Victor Caratini went 1-for-2 with the game-winning RBI in a 2-1 win against the Mariners on Tuesday.
Both teams struggled at the plate as the game extended to the 12th inning tied at one run. Caratini delivered what would be the game-winning RBI with a single in the top of the 12th after he entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the tenth.

Framber Valdez tossed six shutout innings with eight strikeouts in a no-decision against the Mariners on Tuesday.
Valdez was outstanding on Tuesday, blanking the Mariners over six dominant frames. The 31-year-old left-hander generated 11 whiffs and tossed 64-of-94 pitches for strikes to collect eight strikeouts with one walk. The bullpen was unable to hold on to a one-run lead for him, giving him a no-decision. Valdez has started the season with a 2.50 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 21/7 K/BB ratio across 18 innings over three starts. The Astros’ ace will look to keep it going against the Cardinals in St. Louis on Monday.

Castillo did a great job shutting down the Astros over five innings, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out six batters on 14 whiffs. The biggest threat against the 32-year-old right-hander came in the fourth inning as he was able to escape a bases-loaded jam. Castillo started the sixth inning but was relieved after giving up a leadoff base hit. He’ll carry a 2.12 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 17 innings through three starts into a matchup against the Reds in Cincinnati next Tuesday.
  • ATH Center Fielder #33
JJ Bleday went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored to lead the Athletics to a 10-4 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
Bleday enjoyed a stellar day at the dish against the Padres, starting with a two-run double in the first inning before scoring on a base hit by Miguel Andujar. Bleday then drew a walk in the third and scored for a second time. Leading off the seventh, he took Yuki Matsui deep for a solo homer, his first of the season. The 27-year-old outfielder doesn’t have the most exciting profile, but could be a solid reserve outfielder to stream at home in deep leagues.
  • ATH 3rd Baseman #13

The bottom of the A’s order did nearly all of the damage on a night they scored ten runs on the Padres in Sacramento. Urshela had a big day at the plate. Springs loaded the bases with no outs in the second, but limited the Padres to one run on a sacrifice fly. The 32-year-old left-hander settled in for three more scoreless innings, falling in line for the win as the A’s gave him nine runs of support. Springs will take on the White Sox in Chicago next Tuesday.

Cease didn’t get his first swing-and-miss until his 26th pitch, striking out the leadoff man to end the frame as the A’s hit around the order. The A’s brought three more runs in to score in the third on a walk and three more hits. The 29-year-old right-hander will look to put this start in the rear view mirror when he takes on the Cubs in San Diego on Monday.
