White Sox purchased the contract of OF Jason Coats from Triple-A Charlotte.
Coats earned the promotion by hitting .335 with seven homers and 24 RBI in 43 games for Charlotte. He’ll make his major league debut Saturday against the Tigers. Coats is penciled in as the starting left fielder and will bat eighth against right-hander Mike Pelfrey.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44

Julio Rodríguez tripled and scored twice while going 2-for-5 in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.
J-Rod showed off his impressive speed with his three-bagger, and that’s already the second of the season. He’s hitting just .190 in the first 15 games of the campaign, but the first tenth of the season has been more encouraging than disappointing; especially when you consider how much he struggled to begin 2024.
  • SEA Right Fielder #20
Luke Raley drove in three runs and picked up two hits in a blowout win for the Mariners on Saturday over the Rangers.
Raley also drew a walk. It’s nice to see him drive the baseball Saturday, as he is still just slugging .289 on the young campaign. Raley has been hot-and-cold for the past two-plus seasons, and the hope is that this is the start of a hot run for the 30-year-old outfielder/infielder.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh homered, drove in two runs and scored three times in a 9-2 shellacking of the Rangers on Saturday.
Big Dumper dumped a ball over the fence again Saturday, giving him roundtrippers in back-to-back games and upping Raleigh’s total to four in 15 games. The 28-year-old backstop also doubled — his third of 2025 — and improved his slash to .214/.313/.482. Don’t be surprised if that slash is right around what he finishes at in 2025. That’s more compliment than insult.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #22
Bryan Woo held the Rangers to one run over seven innings while striking out seven to get a win Saturday.
Woo allowed a walk and three straight hits to open the game. He didn’t allow another free pass in the contest, and gave up just three more knocks in another impressive contest for the 25-year-old. He threw 61-of-91 pitches for strikes, and he lowered his ERA to a nifty 2.75 over four starts. Woo sometimes gets forgotten about in the loaded Mariner rotation, but he shouldn’t. He’s scheduled to face the Blue Jays on Friday.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #80
Kumar Rocker gave up four runs — three earned — in 3 1/3 innings to take a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.
Rocker struggled to stay ahead of hitters, and threw 38-of-68 pitches for strikes before leaving. There wasn’t a ton of hard contact, but the 25-year-old’s poor command doomed him Saturday night. Rocker has alternated quality starts with shaky ones, which isn’t a huge surprise for a rookie hurler. Rocker will try and bounce back Friday, but that start is against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers shouldn’t take the chance if they don’t have to.
  • CHC Left Fielder #30
Kyle Tucker went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored in a shellacking of the Dodgers on Saturday.
Tucker is already up to 18 RBI on the season with the pair of runs driven in. The 28-year-old has enjoyed his first — possibly only — season with the Cubs as seen in a slash of .328/.451/.657 over the first 17 games. He’s going to get a lot of money really soon.
  • CHC Catcher #9
Miguel Amaya went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored in a blowout win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
This is a good statline no matter when you get in the game, but even more impressive when you consider he didn’t enter the game until the fifth inning. Amaya’s homer is the first of 2025, and he’s plated 11 over the first 17 games of the campaign.
  • CHC Catcher #15
Carson Kelly homered twice and reached five times in a blowout win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
Carson Kelly cannot be contained. The pair of homers brings his total up to four in 2025, and the three hits and pair of walks ups his slash to 417/.571/1.042 in the (very, very) limited sample. Kyren Paris could never. The regression is likely to be hard and swift, but Cubs’ fans have every right to enjoy what they’ve seen from Kelly in 2025.
  • CHC 1st Baseman #29
Michael Busch went 4-for-6 with a homer and three RBI in a 16-0 drubbing Saturday over the Dodgers.
So, the Dodgers aren’t perfect. Busch did major damage against his former organization, and he picked up four of the Cubs’ 21 hits against Los Angeles in a game that was 1-0 until the sixth. Busch has gotten off to a very solid start on the season with a pair of homers, nine RBI, a .300 average and an OPS of .926.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #32
Ben Brown blanked the Dodgers over six innings while striking out five to get a win in the Cubs’ win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
Impressive, even before you consider the quality of opponent. Brown was “only” able to get nine swings and misses over 84 pitches, but he was still able to accumulate the five punchouts while scattering five hits. It’s easily his best start of the year, and a reminder that Brown was once considered one of the better pitching prospects in baseball. He’ll try and build on this effort and continue to lower his 5.09 ERA against the Diamondbacks next weekend.
