Kyle Kendrick allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits in six innings of Sunday’s loss to the Cubs.
Kendrick struck out seven and walked one, faring much better in his second start of the season than he did in the first. His biggest mistake came in the fourth, where he served up a solo bomb to Joe Mather. With Cliff Lee (oblique) progressing as scheduled, Kendrick may not get to make another start.

Rockies recalled RHP Juan Mejia from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Mejia will get the Rockies an extra arm in the bullpen after taking Chase Dollander’s roster spot, with Dollander hitting the IL due to forearm tightness. Mejia will likely be the arm that goes back to Triple-A whenever Colorado adds an arm to replace Dollander in the rotation.
Dodgers, Padres lead NL West champion best bets
Brad Thomas and Vaughn Dalzell look to the future, analyzing why the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres lead their best bets to win the NL West.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #32
Rockies placed RHP Chase Dollander on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 19, with right forearm tightness
Hollander will obviously miss at least two weeks while he recovers from the tightness he must have picked up during his outing Sunday, but there’s no timeline available, and forearm issues often lead to longer stints on the injured list. Juan Mejia has been recalled from Triple-A to take Hollander’s roster spot. Colorado should provide a timeline and severity of the talented 23-year-old’s injury shortly.
  • LAA Shortstop #2
Luis Rengifo is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics.
It appears to just be a day of rest for Rengifo. The 28-year-old will sit with Tim Anderson handling second base and hitting seventh.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #80
Kumar Rocker (shoulder) will make a rehab start Friday for Double-A Frisco.
Rocker has been out of action since the end of April with a shoulder impingement in his throwing arm, and the right-hander will likely need to make multiple appearances before being ready to rejoin the Texas rotation. If all goes well, the 25-year-old could be back pitching for Texas in the middle of June; perhaps slightly sooner.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
The Twins are expected to activate Carlos Correa off the 7-day concussion injured list Friday.
Correa has reportedly made marked improvement, and the Twins have already announced that Ryan Fitzgerald has been demoted to Triple-A to make room. Minnesota may take some extra precautions, but all signs point to Correa being in the lineup Friday against the Royals in Minneapolis.
  • MIN 2nd Baseman #53
Twins optioned INF Ryan Fitzgerald to Triple-A St. Paul.
Fitzgerald gets booted from the active roster, and the Twins are expected to fill that roster spot with Carlos Correa (head) coming off the 7-day concussion injured list. Fitzgerald will likely be back as a bench option at some point.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson (forearm) is hitting second and playing shortstop against the Angels on Thursday.
It was just a one-game absence for Wilson after leaving Tuesday’s contest with a forearm bruise. The impressive rookie shortstop is back at it to square off against Tyler Anderson and the Angels’ bullpen on Thursday. Max Schuemann remains in the lineup at second base, so Luis Urias will get the day off.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Shea Langeliers is not in the lineup for Thursday’s bout against the Angels.
Langeliers will get a day of maintenance in the series finale against the Angels. Jhonny Pereda will handle catching duties and hit ninth in Langeliers’ absence.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #68
Mariners activated RHP George Kirby off the 15-day injured list.
Kirby will be making his season debut Thursday against the Astros after missing the first two months of the season with inflammation in his shoulder. He’s been one of the best fantasy options in baseball when healthy, and while there may be some rust to kick off even with three rehab starts, he’s absolutely worthy of fantasy consideration beginning with this outing against Houston.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #59
Mariners optioned RHP Troy Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma.
Taylor gets booted from the roster to make room for George Kirby, as Kirby is making his 2025 debut after missing the first two months of the season with shoulder inflammation. Taylor has been ineffective in his limited time in 2025, and likely will just be an up-and-down arm this year.
