Trevor Plouffe hit his first home run of the season in a losing effort against the Royals on Friday.
Plouffe finished the game 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored. He connected on the solo shot off of Everett Teaford in the second inning. He’s seen only sporadic playing time so far this year, earning the start in right field in this one. With his shortstop eligibility in most fantasy leagues, he is an intriguing option should he receive consistent at-bats.

Michael Massey drove in a run while going 2-for-4 in Wednesday’s extra-inning loss to the Brewers.
Massey gave the Royals a 2-1 lead in the 10th on an infield single. It’s the third RBI of the season for the 27-year-old, and he’s off to a non-descript .273/.292/.364 slash to open the 2025 campaign.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #30
Grayson Rodriguez (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
Rodriguez opened the regular season on the shelf with elbow inflammation. There isn’t an official return timetable yet, but he’s trending towards rejoining Baltimore’s rotation at some point in May. The 25-year-old righty should progress to facing hitters in a live batting practice session at some point soon before he’s cleared to start a minor league rehab assignment.
  • MIL Second Baseman #2
Brice Turang went 1-for-6 with three strikeouts, but picked up a walk-off single in the 11th to give the Brewers a win Wednesday over the Royals.
It was an awful game for Turang for 10 1/3 innings, but he was able to squeeze in the game-winner to make it a happy day for the Brewers and a day that could have been worse for fantasy managers who roster him. The 25-year-old is hitting .320/.333/.440 to begin the year, so it’s hard to complain about the production thus far.
  • MIL Right Fielder #11
Jackson Chourio homered while going 3-for-5 with two RBI against the Royals on Wednesday in an extra-innings victory.
Chourio started the scoring with a solo homer off Cole Ragans to lead off the game. That would be the last run that the Brewers would score until the 10th inning when Chourio came up hughe with an RBI double to tie the game at 2-2. The 21-year-old star is now hitting .286 with a .500 slugging mark over the first six games of 2025.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #51
Freddy Peralta held the Royals to just one run Wednesday over eight innings, but he didn’t factor into the decision.
Peralta and Cole Ragans gave baseball fans one of the best pitching duels of the season Wednesday, and unfortunately that means neither gets a win. Peralta allowed an RBI single in the second to Cavan Biggio, but from that point on he was outstanding; forcing 19 swings and misses while striking out eight with no walks. Peralta has been excellent in both starts this year and now has a 2.08 ERA over those two outings, but zero wins to show for it. Fair sport. He gets the Rockies next week.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Cole Ragans fanned 10 over five innings of one-run baseball but didn’t factor into the decision Wednesday against the Brewers.
It was a terrific pitching matchup between Ragans and Freddy Peralta, and unfortunately neither picked up a deserved win. The stat might be flawed. Ragans allowed a solo homer to Jackson Chourio in the first, but from that point on he silenced the Milwaukee lineup while inducing an impressive 19 swings and misses on 97 pitches. Ragans struggled in the opener against the Guardians, but this was much more in line with how he’s pitched over the last two-plus seasons. He’s a must-start Tuesday against the Twins.
  • BAL Shortstop #2
Gunnar Henderson (intercostal) will play in a minor league rehab game on Wednesday for Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles will wait until after Wednesday’s rehab contest before determining whether to activate Henderson for Thursday’s showdown against the Red Sox or wait an additional day. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar has hit .313 (5-for-16) with two homers in four rehab games. He’ll return to Baltimore’s lineup at some point this week, but it might not be on Thursday anymore due to the travel complications involved with getting him to Camden Yards in time for an afternoon matchup.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher
Mason Adams underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.
Adams was sidelined earlier this month with a flexor strain in his right elbow, but wound up having to undergo a full reconstructive surgery. Given the timing of the procedure, he’s going to miss a significant portion of the 2026 season.
  • PIT Second Baseman #26
Adam Frazier went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a win for the Pirates over the Rays on Wednesday.
Frazier singled home Jared Triolo to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. The veteran infielder/outfielder hit at the top of the Pittsburgh lineup Wednesday, but remains a non-factor in fantasy leagues.
  • PIT Center Fielder #15
Oneil Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a stolen base and two RBI in a win over the Rays on Wednesday.
Cruz scorched a solo shot off Ryan Pepiot on a ball that had an exit velocity of 108.1 mph in the fifth inning. He gave the Pirates some insurance with a sacrifice fly in the eighth to make it 4-2 Pirates. Cruz has two homers, six stolen bases and a .922 OPS to open the 2025 campaign. Not too shabby.
