Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-3, walked twice, scored two runs, drove in a run and swiped a base on Sunday night, leading the Padres to a 5-0 victory over the Braves.
The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder led off the game with a double off of AJ Smith-Shawver and then raced around to score the game’s first run on an RBI double by Manny Machado. He then reached on a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning and swiped second base but was left stranded there. Tatis also led off the seventh inning with a walk and scored on a two-out RBI double by Jackson Merrill. He finished his night off with a run-scoring single in the eighth inning that capped off the scoring. He’s off to a sizzling start to the 2025 campaign, hitting .467 (7-for-15) with a homer, five runs scored, two RBI and three stolen bases.
