Jesus Montero went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a career-high four RBI in a 9-1 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.
Montero had an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning, a two-run double in the third and an impressive opposite-field solo blast in the sixth. The 21-year-old is now batting .346 with four homers, three doubles, 12 RBI and a 16/5 K/BB ratio over his first 52 at-bats in the big leagues. He should make the postseason roster as the primary designated hitter against left-handed pitching.
  • WSH Second Baseman #2

Luis Garcia Jr. is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Garcia has taken a seat in both games that the Nationals have faced left-handed starters. He’ll take a break with Amed Rosario getting the start at second. Jacob Young is also getting a rest with Alex Call starting in right.
  • HOU Right Fielder #11
Cam Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday’s finale against the Giants.
Smith will take a seat with Yordan Alvarez getting a rare — at least in 2025 — start in left field, and Jose Altuve getting some “rest” as the designated hitter. Smith has struggled early on, but fantasy managers should remain patient. For now, anyway.
  • NYM Catcher #13
Luis Torrens is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Marlins.
Torrens will get his first off day of the season. Hayden Senger will be behind the plate and hit ninth against the Fish on Wednesday.
  • KC Left Fielder #1
MJ Melendez is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Brewers.
It appears to just be a day off for Melendez; even with right-hander Freddy Peralta on the bump for the Brewers. Cavan Biggio will be the starting left fielder in Melendez’s absence.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #33
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that Tyler Alexander is likely to start Friday’s game against the Reds.
McCalvy notes that Alexander threw a bullpen Wednesday. The Brewers have dealt with injuries to their starting rotation — and poor results — so they’ll give Alexander a shot; although likely one that doesn’t see him go deep into the game. Fantasy managers can find a better streamer if they need one.
  • ATH Third Baseman #13
Gio Urshela is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Cubs.
Urshela is off to a slow start, as he’s picked up hits in just 2-of-18 at-bats in his six starts. He’ll take a seat with Luis Urias hitting seventh and handling third base.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #43
Alexis Diaz (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dayton on Friday.
Diaz, 28, will likely need to make a handful of appearances — at minimum — before he’s ready to return to the Cincinnati bullpen. Once back, he should regain his status as the team’s closer. He’s a flawed option, but one that obviously has some fantasy appeal.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #41
Andrew Abbott (shoulder) threw 5 2/3 innings while allowing two runs for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
Abbott struck out four and walked two. Both runs came on solo homers for the 25-year-old in an otherwise successful start. Abbott likely will make one more rehab start Sunday, and then should return to the Reds’ rotation late next week.
  • PIT Catcher #14
Joey Bart is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s tilt against the Rays.
Bart will get the matinee off with Endy Rodriguez catching Paul Skenes on Wednesday.
  • PIT Center Fielder #10
Pirates senior director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk told reporters that Bryan Reynolds is currently dealing with soreness in his right triceps.
Tomczyk notes that the soreness has affected Reynolds’ ability to throw, which is why he’s been at the designated hitter position for the past few games. The 30-year-old has at least been in the lineup, but fantasy managers will want to keep an eye and make sure that he’s playing until the soreness subsides.
