Sean Burke was tagged for six runs and three homers in five innings by the Blue Jays on Monday.
Burke had his best velocity of the season in his previous two outings, but pitching on four days’ rest tonight for the first time since May 11, his stuff wasn’t as good, and he induced just three missed swings in the 85-pitch outing. It’s the first time this season that he’s given up three homers, and he dropped to 4-8 with a 4.40 ERA. The White Sox have no off days this week, so barring a change, Burke is due to pitch again Saturday against the Guardians.
