Rangers purchased the contract of infielder Adam Fox.
The Rangers wanted to designate Rick Bauer for assignment, but they couldn’t do that unless their 40-man roster is full. Adding Fox gave them the full roster. He’ll likely be taken off later, and he’s not someone the club has to be concerned about losing.

Leody Taveras went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the eighth to help the Mariners best the White Sox 6-5 on Wednesday.
Taveras’s two non-hits today were 102.5 and 93.9 mph lineouts, so it was a particularly encouraging day for a guy who had been 3-for-40 with 17 strikeouts since joining the Mariners. He also stole a base. The go-ahead blast off Mike Vasil was his second homer in 130 plate appearances on the season. Including his time with the Rangers, he’s batting .220/.242/.333 with a 40/4 K/BB.
What Crews' MRI means for Hassell III's outlook
With Dylan Crews set to undergo an MRI after exiting Tuesday's game, Eric Samulski assesses whether fantasy managers should rush to roster former top prospect Robert Hassell III after his promotion.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #73
Logan Evans gave up four runs and three homers over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the White Sox.
Homers from Tim Elko, Lenyn Sosa and Joshua Palacios plated the runs. Evans struck out seven and had a nice 34% CSW today. He hadn’t recorded more than five strikeouts in any of his previous four starts. He’ll probably remain in the rotation and face the Nationals next week.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #75
Andrés Muñoz worked a scoreless ninth for his 16th save against the White Sox on Wednesday.
Muñoz gave up a leadoff single to Andrew Vaughn in a one-run game, but he then retired three in a row. He’s up to 22 appearances this season without having allowed an earned run.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #64
Shane Smith allowed three runs and two hits over five innings Wednesday against the Mariners.
The runs came immediately in the first, as Smith walked the first two batters he faced and then gave up a homer to Julio Rodríguez. Only two hitters reached during the rest of his outing, and he actually left with a 4-3 lead, though that was quickly blown. Smith has to be used to the no-decisions by now; he’s 1-3 with a 2.36 ERA in his 10 starts, and the White Sox are 1-9 when he pitches. He’ll face the Mets next.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh homered, doubled and walked twice Wednesday against the White Sox.
Every time it looks like Raleigh might be slowing down a little, he does something like this. He had gone 1-for-12 with five strikeouts in his previous three games, but now his OPS is right back up to .954. He’s tied with Aaron Judge for third place in the majors with 16 homers, one behind Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber.
  • CWS 2nd Baseman #50
Lenyn Sosa hit a two-run homer in a losing cause Wednesday versus the Mariners.
Sosa also went 2-for-3 with a double in last night’s 1-0 win. Before that, he was on the bench in three out of four games, as the White Sox have been turning his playing time over to Josh Rojas. At .272/.289/.395, Sosa has been one of the White Sox’s better hitters in spite of his extreme aversion to drawing walks. He might never turn into a quality regular, but there’s still no reason for him to be taking a backseat to Rojas.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson (forearm) is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Angels.
No surprise here after Wilson was removed from Tuesday’s contest with a left forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch in the early stages of the game. The 23-year-old rookie has been sensational this season, emerging as the front-runner for AL Rookie of the Year honors, hitting .341 with five homers and four steals through 47 games. It’ll be Max Schuemann filling in at shortstop on Wednesday night. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • FA Shortstop #9
Jean Segura announced his retirement from professional baseball after 12 seasons.
Segura last appeared in the majors during the 2023 campaign when he got into 85 games for the Marlins. The 35-year-old veteran infielder hangs up his cleats after a 12-year career that included stints with the Marlins, Phillies, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Brewers and Angels. The two-time All-Star will be most remembered as the centerpiece of the Ketel Marte trade with Seattle that brought the franchise cornerstone to Arizona back in 2016. He steps away with a lifetime .281 batting average with 110 home runs and 211 stolen bases across 1,413 games from 2012-2023.
  • LAD Catcher #68
Dalton Rushing is at catcher and batting eighth on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Rushing draws his first start since last Saturday with Will Smith getting a night off following three consecutive games handling the catching duties. The 24-year-old top prospect is off to a hot start at the plate, hitting .400 (4-for-10) with two RBI through three games since being called up last week from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • LAD 2nd Baseman #6
Hyeseong Kim is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.
Kim takes a seat with Tommy Edman back in center field and both Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernández in the corner outfield spots. It’ll be veteran Miguel Rojas drawing a start at second base. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters earlier this week that the 26-year-old rookie will play roughly three to four times per-week moving forward between multiple defensive spots.
