Lind is 6-for-13 with three doubles since joining the Jays on Sept. 1. He should begin getting more playing time with the hot start, and he remains worth using in AL-only leagues.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that Cooper Hummel triggered the release clause in his minor league contract with the Yankees on Wednesday.

The clause, when activated, gives the Yankees 72 hours to add Hummel to the big league roster, trade him or release him. It sounds like we should know before Saturday what the Bombers intend to do. The versatile 30-year-old has hit .258/.415/.290 with zero homers, two RBI and an 8/9 K/BB ratio over 41 plate appearances thus far at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Christian Montes De Oca to Triple-A Reno.

The 25-year-old hurler spent nearly a week in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen, but didn’t end up getting into a ballgame to make his big league debut. He’ll go back to dominating hitters at the Triple-A level while he waits for another opportunity. Look for the D’Backs to make a corresponding move prior to Friday’s game against the Cardinals.

Gleyber Torres

DET 2nd Baseman #25

Gleyber Torres was pulled from Thursday’s battle against the Guardians due to lower right leg discomfort.

He’ll head for further evaluation and likely imaging to determine exactly what’s going on there. It’s possible that it’s related to the hamstring injury that Torres battled at the beginning of May. The Tigers probably won’t have an additional update on his status until Friday, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he wound up on the injured list here. If that’s the case, look for Colt Keith to slide back over to second base, opening at-bats in the designated hitter spot for the Tigers.

Royals released RHP Chris Stratton.

The 34-year-old hurler had been designated for assignment over the weekend and passed through waivers unclaimed. He struggled to a 7.94 ERA over 17 innings in 12 appearances with the Royals this season. He’s now free to explore other opportunities on the open market if he so chooses.

Julio Rodríguez was scratched from the Mariners’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Astros.

No reason was given for the late scratch, only that the Mariners would provide an update on his status after the game. Fantasy managers will have to wait anxiously for a couple of hours before we get an additional information on the superstar outfielder’s status. Stay tuned.

Gleyber Torres

DET 2nd Baseman #25

Gleyber Torres was removed from Thursday’s contest against the Guardians in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury.

Torres lined out to center field to end the home half of the third inning and was then replaced defensively when the Tigers took the field in the fourth. It’s unclear exactly what occurred here, but Torres did injure his oblique on a swing during the first series of the regular season and spent a couple of weeks on the injured list. Look for the Tigers to have an update on his status shortly.

Gio Urshela

ATH 3rd Baseman #13

Athletics’ manager Mark Kotsay told reporters after Thursday’s game that Gio Urshela will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Urshela suffered the injury during Thursday’s battle against the Angels. The A’s already have options on the active roster that can cover the hot corner defensively, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do in terms of a roster move when Urshela is officially placed on the injured list on Friday.

Ronald Acuna Jr.

ATL Right Fielder #13

Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee) was scratched from the lineup at Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday with the expectation that the 27-year-old superstar will be joining the Braves to make his 2025 season debut on Friday.

Acuña played a full game in right field for the first time on Wednesday afternoon and it sounds like that was the final hurdle that he had to clear in order to return to the Braves’ lineup. He went 6-for-15 (.400) with a pair of homers, two RBI and seven runs scored over six games on his minor league rehab assignment. Fantasy managers with bi-weekly or daily lineup moves should have no qualms about starting Acuña over the weekend if he is indeed activated on Friday.

Taylor Ward

LAA Right Fielder #3

Taylor Ward went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI as the Angels topped the A’s 10-5 on Thursday.

The Halos were down 5-2 when Ward hit the 426-foot slam in the seventh. It was his sixth career homer in just 34 at-bats and 42 plate appearances with the bases loaded. After struggling for the first five weeks of the season, Ward has hit .318 with eight homers and 24 RBI in his last 16 games.

Tyler Anderson

LAA Starting Pitcher #31

Tyler Anderson walked six and gave up five runs in 4 2/3 innings Thursday against the Athletics.

This really should have been worse, considering that Anderson surrendered seven hits and went without a strikeout. It’s the first time this season that Anderson has given up five runs, and it comes five days after he allowed as many as four runs for the first time. Those who grabbed him in mixed leagues should move on before he makes his next start against the Yankees.
