Adam Lind has been crushing the ball since being moved up to Triple-A Syracuse.
Lind, a third-round pick in the 2004 draft, has six multi-hit games in the 16 games he has been with Syracuse. He is hitting .327 with four doubles, two homers and six RBI. He will likely be a September callup for the Jays and he could earn a starting role with the team in 2007.

Shane Bieber (elbow) recorded five strikeouts over 2 1/3 scoreless innings on Saturday in a minor league rehab start for the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Bieber celebrated his 30th birthday by authoring an impressive performance in his rehab debut as he continues to work his way back from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The former fantasy ace figures to be an option for Cleveland’s rotation at some point in late June or early July.
Palencia 'asserts himself' as Cubs closer
Daniel Palencia has four saves in his last four appearances, and James Schiano examines how the 25-year-old flamethrower has officially asserted himself as the Chicago Cubs closer moving forward.
  • MIN Center Fielder #12
Harrison Bader (finger) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Mariners.
Bader is back in left field and batting eighth on Saturday night following a four-game absence due to right ring finger inflammation. The positive news here is that he’s managed to avoid a trip to the injured list. The Twins have their entire Opening Day lineup back fully healthy for the first time in nearly two months.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Mike Trout is at DH and batting sixth on Saturday against the Guardians.
It’s the lowest spot Trout has batted since his rookie campaign back in 2011. The 33-year-old future Hall of Famer went 1-for-5 at DH on Friday in his return from the injured list and is hitting just .180 through 30 games this season.
  • LAA 3rd Baseman #5
Yoán Moncada (knee) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Guardians.
Moncada returns to Los Angeles’ lineup at third base and batting third after missing only one game due to right knee soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern moving forward.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Verlander (pectoral) is unlikely be activated this week to rejoin the Giants’ rotation.
Verlander threw a bullpen session on Friday and the Giants are going to give him some extra time off to rest and recover in the wake of a strong outing by former top prospect Kyle Harrison, who has earned another start this upcoming week. The 42-year-old veteran is working his way back from a pectoral strain and should be back by the middle of June.
  • BOS 2nd Baseman #23
Romy Gonzalez (quad) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Worcester.
Gonzalez should help stabilize Boston’s first base situation, but Nick Sogard deserves some credit for how he’s come up and performed of late. The 28-year-old should be ready to make it back from a quad issue at some point next week.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #58
Orioles sent LHP Cionel Pérez outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Pérez went unclaimed on waivers after being removed from Baltimore’s 40-man roster last weekend. The 29-year-old lefty floundered to an inflated 8.31 ERA across 21 2/3 innings (19 appearances) this season. Given his track record, he should be able to latch on somewhere else, if he winds up electing free agency. However, he might have to settle for a minor league deal.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #0
Marcus Stroman (knee) faced hitters on Saturday in a live batting practice session at Dodger Stadium.
It’s the first time Stroman has faced hitters since suffering a setback earlier this month with his left knee. The 34-year-old has been out since mid-April due to knee inflammation, so it’s encouraging that he’s progressed to facing hitters again, which is usually the final step before starting a rehab assignment.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #63
Fernando Cruz (shoulder) faced hitters on Saturday in a live batting practice session.
Cruz is expected to return from the injured list next week when he’s first eligible to be activated. The 35-year-old veteran reliever hit the shelf last week with shoulder inflammation.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #2
Mariners selected the contract of INF Cole Young from Triple-A Tacoma.
Young takes over as Seattle’s second baseman of the future and will make his major-league debut on Saturday night at T-Mobile Park against the Twins. The 21-year-old top prospect got off to an ice-cold start this season, but has been sizzling-hot of late at the Triple-A level, slashing .366/.467/.673 with five homers and four steals in 26 games since May 1. He doesn’t project as a potential fantasy superstar, but his hit tool and well-balanced skillset make him a high-floor contributor right away in deeper mixed leagues. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot as he ascends to the majors.
