    Brown is being recalled again not to actually play at all. He’ll serve as the emergency catcher on days that Adam Melhuse is used as a designated hitter. If he ever gets a start, it’d come as a shock.

    Bryan Reynolds went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer, two runs scored, and a walk to lead the Pirates to a 9-6 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
    Reynolds was locked in against Corbin Burnes and the Diamdondbacks. He reached in the first and third innings on a pair of base hits and drew a walk in the sixth before scoring on a two-run homer by Henry Davis. Reynolds then doubled in the seventh and gave the Pirates the lead with a three-run homer off Jalen Beeks in the eighth. The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .223/.292/.360 with seven homers and 30 RBI across 236 plate appearances.

    Corbin Carroll went 1-for-5 with a solo homer and two runs scored against the Pirates on Tuesday.
    Carroll led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run off Mike Burrows to put the Diamondbacks on the board. He later reached on an error in the fourth and scored on a base hit by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. The 24-year-old outfielder is hitting .259/.329/.561 with 16 homers, 42 runs scored, 35 RBI, and nine steals across 252 plate appearances.

    David Bednar struck out two batters in a clean ninth inning to record the save against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
    Bednar got the call to close out the game against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday with a three-run lead. He struck out two batters in a perfect inning to collect his sixth save of the season. Bednar has three of the team’s last four saves, with Dennis Santana working the eighth inning.

    Mike Burrows allowed five runs -- four earned -- with two strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
    Burrowed surrendered a leadoff homer to Corbin Carroll in the bottom of the first inning, then got out of the frame with the bases loaded. After two scoreless innings, the Diamondbacks knocked Burrows from the game in the fourth, bringing in five runs in the frame. The 25-year-old right-hander has now allowed nine runs, eight earned, over 8 1/3 innings across two starts. Another turn in the rotation would put him in line for a start against the Astros in Pittsburgh next Tuesday.

    Corbin Burnes allowed two runs with six strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.
    Burnes coasted through five shutout innings until Henry Davis took him deep for a two-run homer in the sixth. He returned for a scoreless seventh, completing seven frames with six strikeouts. He was saddled with a no-decision after the bullpen failed to hold a four-run lead. The 30-year-old right-hander will look to continue his strong season when he takes a 2.72 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 57/25 K/BB ratio across 59 2/3 innings into a start against the Braves in Atlanta next Tuesday.

    Ben Rice went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Yankees’ 3-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.
    Rice broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with the Yankees first run, taking Tyler Anderson deep for a solo homer to right center field. The 26-year-old slugger continues to be part of a rotation at designated hitter and first base, playing 4-5 times a week. Rice is hitting .244/.332/.524 with 11 homers, 30 runs scored, and 23 RBI across 187 plate appearances.

    Yoán Moncada went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Yankees on Tuesday.
    The Angels had been shut out through eight frames before Moncada took Devin Williams deep for a solo homer to lead off the ninth and cut the lead to two runs. The 30-year-old third baseman is up to five home runs and 18 RBI while hitting .222/.330/.467 across 106 plate appearances.

    Devin Williams allowed two runs before holding on to record the save against the Angels on Tuesday.
    Luke Weaver got the night off after back-to-back 20-pitch outings. Williams got the call in the ninth to close out the game with a three-run lead. He immediately gave up a solo homer to Yoán Moncada. Two more hits and a groundout made it a one-run game before he got a pop out to secure the win for the Yankees and his fifth save of the season. It doesn’t seem like Weaver will be relinquishing regular closing duties any time soon.

    Carlos Rodón tossed seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts in a win over the Angels on Tuesday.
    Rodón dominated the Angels over seven shutout innings, scattering five hits with no walks while striking out ten batters on an impressive 21 swinging strikes. The 32-year-old left-handers has been one of the best pitchers in baseball so far, posting a 2.60 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 90/26 K/BB ratio across 72 2/3 innings with seven wins. Rodón will look to keep it going Tuesday against the Guardians in New York.

    Tyler Anderson allowed two runs -- one earned -- with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Yankees on Tuesday.
    Anderson held the Yankees scoreless through three innings before Ben Rice took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. New York brought an unearned run in to score in the sixth on an error and a base hit. The 35-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 3.39 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 46/24 K/BB ratio across 61 innings. He’ll take on the Red Sox in Boston on Monday.
