Adam Miller allowed one run in seven inning and struck out eight for Double-A Akron on Tuesday.
Miller is 5-4 with a 4.35 ERA, 54 H and 55/16 K/BB in 60 IP in Double-A. Those probably aren’t quite the results the Indians were hoping for, but at least he has remained healthy.

Mariners recalled RHP Blas Castano from Triple-A Tacoma.
The Mariners wanted to add a fresh arm to their bullpen that could give them some length on Friday night, as their bullpen has been taxed recently and Friday’s starter Emerson Hancock has struggled to work deep into games. Castano had been working as a starter at Triple-A Tacoma where he registered a 3.43 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 28/19 K/BB ratio across 44 2/3 innings. He’ll be making his big league debut if he gets into a game with the M’s.
Top prospect Clarke to be called up by Athletics
Following the Atheltics' announcement that they are calling up prized outfield Denzel Clarke, James Schiano discusses what the toolsy prospect with "blazing speed" will bring to the pro level.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #49
Mariners designated RHP Jesse Hahn for assignment.
The 35-year-old hurler was just promoted from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. He appeared in three games this season with the Mariners, posting a 5.40 ERA, 2.20 WHIP and a 3/5 K/BB ratio across five innings of work. It seems likely that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed, where it’ll then be up to Hahn if he wants to accept an outright assignment back to Tacoma or peddle his wares on the open market.
  • ATH Shortstop #6
Athletics selected the contract of INF Logan Davidson from Triple-A Las Vegas.
The Athletics made some wholesale changes in advance of Friday’s ballgame against the Phillies, with Davidson being one of five players that was promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas. Davidson, 27, was the Athletics’ first-round selection (29th overall) from the 2019 draft class. He was off to a nice start at Triple-A Las Vegas as well, slashing .303/.452/.428 with two homers, 22 RBI, seven stolen bases and a 58/38 K/BB ratio over 186 plate appearances while playing all over the infield and some in left field as well. Expect him to function in a super utility role for the A’s.
  • ATH Catcher #65
Athletics selected the contract of C Willie MacIver from Triple-A Las Vegas.
It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 28-year-old backstop, who will replace Jhonny Pereda as the team’s primary backup catcher. MacIver, a ninth-round selection by the Rockies from the 2018 draft class, was slashing a blistering .389/.469/.548 with two homers, 30 RBI, two stolen bases and a 27/18 K/BB ratio over 147 plate appearances at Triple-A. May as well see what he can do at the big league level, as the production Pereda was providing couldn’t have been any worse.
  • ATH 2nd Baseman #20
Athletics transferred INF Zack Gelof to the 60-day injured list.
Nothing has changed in the prognosis for Gelof — who was shut down in early May due to a stress reaction in his ribs — this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster as they made wholesale roster changes on Friday. There’s still no word on how long the A’s expect the 25-year-old second baseman to be sidelined for.
  • ATH Catcher #64
Athletics optioned C Jhonny Pereda to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Pereda saw a total of just 42 plate appearances in his 16 games with the A’s, slashing a cringe-inducing .167/.286/.194 with zero homers, two RBI and a 13/6 K/BB ratio. He’ll always have the memories of striking out Shohei Ohtani though.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #15
Athletics designated 1B/OF Seth Brown for assignment.
The Athletics made a flurry of roster moves on Friday with an eye toward adding youth and offensive potential to the roster and Brown wound up being one of the casualties. The 32-year-old was slashing an abysmal .192/.311/.288 with one home run, three RBI and a 17/7 K/BB ratio over his first 61 plate appearances. He’s someone that could attract some interest on waivers.
  • ATH 3rd Baseman #13
Athletics placed INF Gio Urshela on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
We already knew that this move was coming as A’s skipper Mark Kotsay alluded to it after Thursday’s loss to the Angels. What’s unclear is just how long Urshela will be shelved for. CJ Alexander was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move to help provide some infield depth while Urshela is out.
  • ATH 3rd Baseman #26
Athletics recalled INF CJ Alexander from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Alexander will provide the Athletics with some infield depth on their bench as Gio Urshela (hamstring) lands on the injured list on Friday. The 28-year-old was hitting .252/.348/.509 with 10 homers, 33 RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 42 games with Triple-A Las Vegas. He’ll battle with Miguel Andujar and Max Schuemann for playing time at third base with Urshela shelved.
  • ATH Center Fielder #33
Athletics optioned OF JJ Bleday to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The A’s had high hopes for the 27-year-old outfielder after his strong showing in 2024, but he slashed a paltry .204/.291/.365 with six homers, 18 RBI, one stolen base and a 41/21 K/BB ratio over his first 189 plate appearances. He’ll look to get back on track at the Triple-A level before hopefully rejoining the Athletics later in the season.
