Red Sox RHP prospect Anthony Eyanson recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts and allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings on Friday for Double-A Portland.
Boston’s top pitching prospect by a country mile, Eyanson has compiled a microscopic 1.32 ERA and 94/26 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings during his professional debut after being selected in the third round of last year’s draft. The 21-year-old is unlikely to reach the big leagues this season given the organization’s pitching depth at the highest level, but he could factor into their rotation plans at some point early next year.
