Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee hosted the NASCAR Cup and XFINITY Series races on Sunday and Monday. The Cup Series featured the 500-lap Supermarket Heroes 500 on Sunday afternoon which earned Brad Keselowski his 2nd straight Cup Series victory. Last week’s weather problems at Charlotte Motor Speedway forced an extra day of racing in North Carolina. This forced NASCAR to move the XFINITY Series 303-lap (3 lap Overtime) Cheddar’s 300 at the 0.533-mile concrete oval in Tennessee from Saturday to Monday night. The NASCAR Gander Truck Series will return to action on Sat, June 6, with the Vet Tix/Camping World 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. - Qualifying was not held for this event. The lineup was set based on a combination of the results in the last NCS race and then a random drawing. P1 went to Brad Keselowski (#2 Ford Mustang) with #10 Aric Almirola sharing Row 1 in the P2 spot. #22 Joey Logano, #12 Ryan Blaney, #19 Martin Truex Jr., #9 Chase Elliott, #18 Kyle Busch, #4 Kevin Harvick, #21 Matt DiBenedetto and #11 Denny Hamlin made up the remainder of the top-10 in the starting lineup. Did not qualify: No one, 40 cars entered for 40-car lineup.
- Pole-sitter Brad Keselowski (#2 Ford Mustang) scored his 32nd victory in 386 NCS races. This is his 2nd victory (Charlotte, Bristol) and 6th top-10 finish in 2020. It is his 3rd victory and 7th top-10 finish in 21 races at Bristol. Clint Bowyer (2nd) posted his 16th top-10 finish in 29 BMS races and his 3rd top-10 finish in 2020. Jimmie Johnson (3rd) earned his 22nd top-10 finish in 37 races at Bristol. Christopher Bell (9th) was the highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year (ROTY) contender. Kevin Harvick (finished 11th) leads the point standings by 24 points over Joey Logano (finished 21st).
