Erick Fedde allowed six hits and three runs with three strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Friday.
It looked like Fedde was working on a gem until the fourth inning. He walked the lead-off hitter, never a good sign, before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. laced a game-tying double and Alejandro Kirk poked a two-out, go-ahead single. He didn’t have very good feel for his sweeper nor cutter and only forced six swings-and-misses all game. His next start is scheduled to come at home against the Pirates.

Erick Fedde allowed just a run over 4 2/3 innings, but took a loss to the Mariners on Friday.
Fedde walked three, and he threw just 52-of-95 pitches for strikes while he was in the game. The right-hander was still able to limit the Seattle lineup to just one run on a sac fly by Randy Arozarena, but that was one more run than Bryce Miller allowed while Fedde was in the game. He’ll try and be more efficient and lower his 3.39 ERA against the Blue Jays next weekend.

Erick Fedde gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Yankees.
Fedde struck out eight tonight. Just five batters reached safely against him, but four of them scored. He fell to 1-4 with a 4.64 ERA in six starts for the Cardinals. Incredibly, that’s as many losses as he had in 21 starts for the league-worst White Sox.

Erick Fedde allowed one run and struck out seven Twins across six innings in a no-decision on Sunday.
This was cutter-palooza with Fedde matched up against Zebby Matthews and both used theirs well. Fedde’s forced five swings-and-misses with five more called strikes, but Willi Castro took one deep that was in on his hands in the first inning. Still, this was an excellent start in what’s been an excellent season for the resurgent Fedde. He’s scheduled to face the Yankees in Yankee Stadium next time out.

Erick Fedde allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings while striking out two in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.
After getting through the first inning without allowing a baserunner, Fedde walked back-to-back batters in the second inning only to see Sal Frelick single in Willy Adames to give the Brewers their first run of the night. Joey Ortiz singled off Fedde in the fifth inning to drive home Frelick and push the Brewers’ lead to 2-0. Fedde escaped the fifth but was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning after a walk to William Contreras. While it wasn’t a great night for Fedde, he pitched well enough to keep the Cardinals in position for the win, but lacked the run support to get it done. He’ll look to pick up his second win in a Cardinals uniform on Sunday at the Twins.

Erick Fedde allowed just one earned run across five innings with six strikeouts in a 5-2 victory against the Rays on Wednesday.
Fedde was unbelievably pesky in this one. He manipulated the edges with his cutter and sinker while sending his sweeper way out of the strike zone. Interestingly to note, Fedde threw his second lowest rate of changeups in a single start this season. The Cardinals could be tinkering with his pitch-mix, or the Rays’ lineups only had three left-handed batters in it. Fedde almost exclusively throws that pitch to lefties.

Erick Fedde surrendered five runs in five innings to take a loss to the Cubs in his Cardinals debut Friday.
Fedde gave up two homers today, bringing his total allowed to five in his last three starts. That’s as many as he allowed in his previous 13 outings combined. It’s probably not helping that his velocity has been down a tad; his 92.4 mph average on his sinker today was his second lowest mark of the year. Fedde dropped to 7-5 with a 3.34 ERA.
